Three persons involved in illegal gambling activity (Illegal C**k Fighting) were arrested by operatives of BCPS 1 at Barangay Baan Km.3, Butuan City and four others for Violation of R.A 9165, on November 21.
According to police report, the persons arrested are as follows: Eduardo E Ugat, 58 years old, construction worker, a resident of Purok 3A, Barangay Baan Km.3 Butuan City; Argie T Guzman, 32 years old, dump truck helper, resident of Purok 3 Bashai Barangay baan Km. 3, Butuan City; Rey Alvin A Ponce, 35 years old, construction worker, also a resident of Purok 3 Bashai Barangay Baan Km. 3, Butuan City; and Anthony U Buniel, 46 years old, driver, resident of Purok 3 Bashai Barangay Baan Km. 3, Butuan City.
Recovered from the possession of the arrested persons includes two alive fighting fowls, eight pieces gaff, five pieces gaffer thread, one piece electrical tape, two pieces gaffer tape, and cash money worth Php 477.00 in different denomination.
However, when Buniel tried to evade the arrest through entering a kitchen of a nearby house, the operatives caught him and three others in the act through Plain View Doctrine possessing illegal drug paraphernalia.
The operatives right away arrested the other three persons namely: Vicente C Herbias, 41 years old, aircon installer, residing in Purok 3 Bashai, Barangay Baan Km.3, Butuan City, and a Barangay Drug Surenderee; newly identified drug personality Ali B Griar, 46 years old, welder, resident of Purok 3, Madrid, Surigao del Sur, Wowe Eduria, 22 years old, carpenter and a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Baan Km.3, Butuan City.
Recovered from their possession were three pieces elongated crumpled aluminium foil, three improvised tooter, three pieces improvised needle foil, three pieces lighter without flame guard, two pieces empty transparent plastic sachet containing residue of suspected โshabu,โ assorted crumpled aluminium foil, seven pieces aluminium strips, One unit android cellular phone confiscated from Griar, cash worth Php 2, 795.00 in different domination from Griar, and cash worth Php 2, 020.00 in different domination from Herbias.
