âFILIPINO PEOPLE ARE AMAZINGâ
A non-Filipino resident in the UAE has recently conducted a âsocial experimentâ wherein he chatted a Filipino-owned restaurant and asked for meal because didnât âhave moneyâ to buy one.
Moodee Mahmoud, an expat in UAE with Arab descent, messaged Agemono Express if he could get a meal for free because he could not afford to buy one.
To his surprise, the restaurant staff, who is a Filipino, prepared him a full set up meal.
âThese people are amazing,â he wrote in a post.
In an interview with The Global Filipino Magazine, Moodee revealed that he wanted to prove to his Arab friends that Filipinos are kind and generous.
âThey will always help if they can, but I was not sure about it since you know the situation in the UAE, itâs kind of hard to find people who will really help you even Arabs,â he said.
âWhen I messaged her, she just read it at first, so I thought she wonât give me any food. But after 3 minutes, she replied and told me she will,â he added.
So, Moodee went straight to the restaurant in Ajman since it was just adjacent to his place.
âI was surprised because she prepared a full meal with drinks and all for free! She even asked me if I needed anything or still hungry,â he further added.
When the âsocial experimentâ was done and his intention was achieved, she gave the lady who assisted her a small token, paid the meal in full, and gave her a generous amount of tip.
âA big lesson to me and my friendsâFilipino people are amazing,â Moodee said.
He also clarified that his post, which is now viral in a community group, was not a paid one nor another marketing ploy.
