Borobiliran Festival officially kicks-off, LGU launches 'Myra Cares'
As part of 312th Biliran Founding Anniversary, the Borobiliran Festival has officially commenced, September 10, in the Municipality of Biliran with a meticulously organized schedule, showcasing the talents of Biliranons and Municipality's rich cultural heritage and community spirit.
Meanwhile, the theme of the event "Celebrating vibrancy and resiliency: Journeying to respond the needs of time through Myra cares".
The festive event started early with 6:00 AM Anniversary Thanksgiving Mass, at San Juan Plaza, and at 8: 27 AM, the streets came alive with a Grand Parade and Street Dancing around the town, focusing on the local talents and enthusiasm.
The main Anniversary Program at 9:00 AM featured series of ceremonial events including singing of the Pambansang Awit or National Anthem, Bagong Pilipinas Hymn, and the Biliran Hymn, held at San Juan Plaza.
Moreover, the Municipal Mayor Hon. Myra A. Cabrales will deliver the welcome message, followed by an audio presentation on " A Glimpsed of the Municipal Tourism Development Projects ". Also present are Congressman Gerardo J. Espina Jr., Governor Gerard Roger M. Espina, and Board Member Grace J. Casil who will share their messages of support of the event.
In addition, the event includes the launch and opening salvo of the Municipal Jingle to be performed by selected municipal employees, as well as the former Biliran Municipal Mayors, and the introduction of the Board of Judges.
Furthermore, the celebration will also present a various participation of contingents in the Borobiliran Festival competition, bringing each their own unique talents to the event, Biliran National Agricultural High School (BNAHS) will present TRIBU PAGASPAR, BIPSU-BilCam will stand out with TRIBU BALANGHAI, SK & Liga ng mga Barangay will unite in PUNDOK SA KABATAANG PEDERASYON, and the Biliran Science High School (BILSCIE) will captivate the audience with TRIBU MADASIGON.
While, the event also gives prominence to the distribution of live births, learning materials, generator sets, and agricultural inputs, marching band exhibitions will held by BNAHS and BILSCIE, the day will be concluded with awarding of the winners of Borobiliran Festival competition, with exhibition of the BIPSU Marching Band as well.
Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Benedicto E. Corpin will deliver the closing remarks, capping off a day filled with community pride and celebration.
Following a lunch break at 12:00 PM, the afternoon includes traditional games at the Municipal Ground, and in the evening festivities is the "Wet & Wild" Arriba Party at San Juan Plaza with a live band performance starting at 7:00 PM. The day will be concluded with a spectacular fireworks display at 11:00 PM.
