Displaying vigor toward innovation and entrepreneurship, the delegates of Pangasinan State University (PSU) clinched the 4th spot at the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Pitch, with the theme, "NextGen Tech Pitch: Student Innovators At The Forefront," at Bayambang Campusโ Accreditation Room, September 4.
The universityโs representatives, composed of Glocelle C. De Torres, John Romar B. Caguioa, and Luke E. Lucresia, along with their adviser, Justice Lery R. Roderos, introduced "Moringa Kropek," a nutritional snack fused with local identity in shrimp and bangus flavors.
โDr. Roseanne Jane C. Agustin-Cera, TBI head and project leader, reminded the attendees that the activity is not only a contest but also a celebration of ideas. "This pitch is more than a competition; it is an incubation of ideas, a celebration of creativity, and a reaffirmation of our belief that students are key drivers of progress," she remarked, emphasizing the role of students as innovators.
Delegates from various institutions, including campuses from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Ilocos Sur Community College, Saint Louis College (SLC) of San Fernando, La Union, and Bayambang Polytechnic College (BPC), also joined the event.
DMMSU's entries, Calabash Pearl and Squash with Roasted Squash Seeds ranked first and third, respectively, while SLC's TropiCool came in second.
โThe event featured a hybrid setup, with all delegates showcasing their products via Zoom, except for the representatives from BPC, who presented on-site at the Accreditation Room.
