57 Years ago, the BATANGAS PRESS CLUB was organized in the Library Hall of Batangas High School. Years passed until the club hibernated at the height of the Martial Law years. In 1998, a group of Batangas media personalities led by Vicky A. Florendo of Sunstar People’s Courier sought to reorganized the Club. When Joenald M. Rayos assumed the Presidency in 2001, he sought to have the Club registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). After consultations and many follow-ups, the SEC issued the Certificate of Registration of Batangas Press Club, Inc. on July 9, 2003… and the Club had its juridical personality from then on. Now, the BATANGAS PRESS CLUB, INC. is a formidable group of working Batangas media personalities keeping the tradition of being the vanguard of press freedom in the Province of Batangas.. and beyond!
Happy Anniversary, BPC!
