Missionary Catechists of the Sacred Heart (1923-2023)

MCSH 123 is the triennium of celebrations leading to May 01, 2023, the 100 years of the Missionary Catechists of the Sacred Heart (MCSH 1923-2023). This concrete program was initiated by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Gilbert A. Garcera, D.D., Archbishop of Lipa in response to the 100 founding years of the MCSH. This aims to highlight the MCSH's wonderful activities, recall and celebrate stories of vocation-mission, relive the virtues handed down by the Servant of God, Bishop +Alfredo F. Verzosa with Made Laura Mendoza and rekindle the missionary spirit of MCSH sisters to carry out, expand further the MCSH avowed mission.

Year 2023:
- is the 3rd year of the MCSH 123 preparation
-the exact year of the celebrations of the MCSH Centennial, May 01, 2023
-a Jubilee Year to signify the MCSH Centenary

Vatican gives special status to Batangas shrine
OUR LADY OF CAYSASAY CHURCH IN TAAL

Devotees making a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay in the historic town of Taal in Batangas will now be able to receive the same plenary indulgence granted to pilgrims who visit the ancient basilica of St. Mary Major (Sta. Maria Maggiore) in Rome.
According to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), the Vatican has issued a decree signed by Cardinal Bernard Francis Law, archpriest emeritus of St. Mary Major, granting the Caysasay Shrine the same special privilege attached to the Roman basilica.
Pilgrims who visit and pray at the Shrine will receive plenary indulgence provided they fulfill the prescribed conditions of going to confession, participating in a Mass and praying for the intention of the Holy Father. A plenary indulgence is a complete remission of all temporal punishment due to sin.
The CBCP quoted Fr. Nonie Dolor, the Lipa Archdiocese media director, saying that the Vatican’s pronouncement was “very timely” as the archdiocese was preparing for the grand celebration of its 40th anniversary.
Dolor said a Mass of Declaration to be presided by Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles will be celebrated at the Shrine on June 3 to formally announce to the public the special privilege granted by the Vatican.
The ceremonies will include the reading of the decree and placing the original Latin text and its translation as a marker at the Shrine’s entrance, according to Shrine rector Fr. Jose Maria Loyola Cumagun.
On Saturdays, the day set for devotion to the Our Lady of Caysasay, the otherwise sleepy shrine becomes vibrant when pilgrims flock to the place to pay homage to the Blessed Virgin.
The Marian icon was said to have been found by a local fisherman at the Pansipit River, according to a local legend.
The people had the Marian image enshrined at Labac where devotees flock every Saturday to pay homage.
Miracles attributed to the image attracted many devotees to make annual pilgrimages to the Shrine, especially Chinese Catholics.
Last year, a similar declaration was granted by the Vatican to the shrine of the Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan.
The St. Mary Major basilica is one of the Catholic major basilicas that formed traditional Seven Pilgim Churches of Rome.
The basilica was one of the first built in honor of the Blessed Virgin to highlight her being declared as Mother of God by the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. The basilica hosts pieces of wood said to have come from the Nativity crib.

Again, we are on low power. Our tech found out that there are major repairs to be done on two major modules, got hit by lightning.

This may take some time, folks . . . And more expenses for us. If anyone can extend financial help, we would greatly appreciate it! SOS!

Our transmitter power line got hit by lightning. The STL and transmitter were knocked out. After 4 days searching for the fuse of the transmitter, we finally found one (actually we got five as reserves). However, when the transmitter was put on, there were some sparks, so we need to have it examined.

We are now on temporary emergency power, using our exciter. Going on a low 50 watt output is better than being off air. Just hang on!

We are glad by the many calls and texts inquiring why we went off air, that they miss ALFM, etc. we did not realize that we really have a large following!

Glad to serve our community! Glad to be a medium for Evangelization!

Ang DWAM-FM, 99.1 Spirit ay 13 years na po. Ito'y portal na inilunsad noong May 8, 1999 sa Batangan Plaza. Direktor po ang inyong Lingkod, bagamat ang aking Katulong na Direktor, P. Mike Samaniego, ang siyang malaking pagod dito, dahil ako po noon ay nasa DLSL na bilang resident chaplain. Noong 2000, pumayag na rin si P. Mike maging Direktor.

Isa sa mga pinag-ukulan na,in ng pansin matapos bumigay ang transmitter ng DWAM-AM 1080 KHz. noong 2002, ay Kung paano magpapatuloy ang mga palatuntunan ng AM radio.
Ang bahay na Ito ay naging parkas ng thesis ni P. Mike, sa tulong na rin ng inyong lingkod. At ang napagpasyahan, ang AM program ay sa Ida pang FM station ilalagay.

Binigyan na si P. Mike ng frequency ng NTC, ngunit siya ay initiative ng Gawain ni Arsobispo Rosales, at si P. Manny Guazon ang itinalagang Direktor ng radio. Napaso na ang permit na ibinigay para sa bagong himpilan.
