On August 29, 2025, the Del Rosarian community gathered in solemn remembrance at Plaza Antonino, Orani, Bataan to mark the 40th day since the passing of Consul Eduardo Lazarte De Guzman. The service became a moving testament to a man whose vision, dedication, and compassion left an indelible mark on Tomas del Rosario College and beyond.
The De Guzman Family, the De Guzman Group, TRC Faculty, Campus Press, SAC officers, and representatives from every student organization came together not only to mourn, but also to celebrate a life anchored in service. The program opened with an Audio-Visual Presentation that traced his inspiring journeyโfrom his humble beginnings, to his role as a member of TRCโs Board of Directors in 2001, and ultimately his leadership as College President in January 2024. Each image projected on screen stirred memories of a leader who never wavered in his belief that education is the path to opportunity.
As the presentation concluded, the community was further moved by heartfelt tributes. TRC Vice President for Finance, Sir Tomas Antonio A. Ortiguerra, expressed how President Eddieโs passing created a profound void within the institution, sharing:
The gathering was also uplifted by the voice of Consul Eddie himself, remembered through one of his most powerful words:
These words, spoken with sincerity during his lifetime, echoed deeply in the hearts of everyone presentโa reminder that his legacy is not only etched in the history of TRC, but also in the lives of students he sought to uplift and empower.
Though his physical presence may have passed, Consul Eddieโs vision continues to guide and inspire. His life stands as proof that leadership is not about titles, but about service; not about power, but about purpose.
A visionary remembered. A mentor honored. A legacy that will never fade.
