𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙉𝙀𝙒 𝘾𝙀𝘽𝙐 𝘾𝘼𝙋𝙄𝙏𝙊𝙇 𝙄𝙉 𝘽𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙈𝘽𝘼𝙉 𝙃𝘼𝙎 𝘽𝙀𝙂𝙐𝙉!

Site development and foundation works for the new Cebu capitol complex in the town of Balamban has already begun.

DPWH-7 committed to finish the foundation by July this year, earlier than originally scheduled.

In the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022, a budget of 200M was allocated for the project.

Senator Sonny Angara pledged 100M while Senator Win Gatchalian also promised another 80M for the project.

Cebu's Capitol, the seat of power of the governor, will be transferred to the western town of Balamban to be closer to its constituents since its previous location, Cebu City, is already a highly urbanized city (HUC), an autonomous government unit that is no longer under the administrative control of the province.

The new capitol building will be a replica of the old one in Osmeña Boulevard, a pre-war historic edifice, which in turn will be converted into a museum.
