On November 27 at 2:00 pm, students from the University of San Jose - Recoletos (USJ-R), Balamban Campus, took part in an organized earthquake drillโ€”briefly pausing classes as alarms signaled the start of the exercise.

Students quickly performed the โ€œduck, cover, and holdโ€ procedure before evacuating to designated safety areas under the guidance of faculty and safety officers.

The drill aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness on campus and ensure that students know how to respond calmly and efficiently during seismic emergencies.

The event was organized by the Student Activity Coordinator, Mr. James Louie Ramos, and assisted by CAT Unit 1 Commander, Mr. Junrick Cabaluna, Scout Master Mr. Charles Christian Gomez, teachers Mr. Jade Butaya and Mr. Jonil Apas, together with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, CAT Unit, and volunteers from the Grade 11 regular and afternoon shift students.

This is only the first of the three-day operation, which will continue in the coming days to further support the schoolโ€™s cleanliness, safety, and improvement initiatives.

Through simple acts of service and teamwork, the Josenian community continues to show that small hands, when joined together, can create a big and lasting impact.

On behalf of the hearts of the Josenians, the University of San Jose - Recoletos (USJ-R) Balamban Campus extends its support through the efforts of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) 10th Congress, the CAT Unit 1, and the faculty and staffโ€”not only by joining hands to clean and restore the campus grounds that were severely flooded during the Typhoon Tino incident, but also by delivering relief goods to those affected.

Following the tragedy of Typhoon Tino, which left behind not only damaged surroundings but also a scarred community, the affected areas continue to rise, rebuild, and find hope once more. This act of solidarity reflects the true spirit of being a Josenianโ€”to serve not only the school, but the entire community as proud Cebuanos.

Today, we lovingly remember our brothers and sisters who've gone before usโ€”marked with the sign of faith. We entrust their souls to God's infinite mercy, praying that He may purify them and welcome them into eternal bliss.

Through our prayersโ€”especially the Holy Massโ€”we offer them comfort and assistance on their journey to eternal life. United in the Communion of Saints, we celebrate the bond that transcends death, knowing we're one family in Christ: those on earth, those in heaven, and those being purified.

As we honor their memory, we're reminded that love knows no bounds, and in God, our connections endure forever. May the souls of our dearly departed rest in peace, and may their memory inspire us to live with love, kindness, and compassion.

May we honor their legacy by spreading joy, supporting one another, and living each day with purpose and heart.

On this solemn feast of All Saints' Day, observed each year on November 1st, the Church venerates all saintsโ€”both known and unknownโ€”who have attained heavenly glory through their exemplary faith and holiness.

This celebration, rooted in early Christian reverence for martyrs, was formally instituted by Pope Gregory III in the 8th century, and universally extended by Pope Gregory IV in the 9th centuryโ€”signifying the spiritual union between the Church on earth and the communion of saints in heaven.

As we commemorate their lives of profound devotion and sacrifice, we are called to emulate their virtues of love, grace, and humility. Through Mass, prayers, and reflection, may this sacred day inspire us to renew our commitment to holiness and service to God.

Once again, Happy All Saints' Day!
