I was diagnosed when I was four years old to have a severe hearing loss due to congenital Rubella Syndrome. Aside from hearing and speech, I am neurologically and physically normal. I was born in Baguio City on October 3,1990. I started to attend Speech Theraphy classes from age 3 to high school that made me learn how to lip read. I attended regular school (from pre-school to college) and integrat
ed to regular classes. I graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education at Saint Louis University on April 2012. My parents, sister and relatives communicated with me through finger spelling and common sign language. They never learned the official sign language for me to encourage to speak. In school, specially during college - I learned the proper sign language together with other deaf classmates and interpreter. for 5 months. After graduation, I took the LET Exam but unfortunately I did not pass. Then, On 2013, I become a teacher at St. Francis De Sales Learning Resource Center Inc (SLRC) until the COVID pandemic on 2020. I was teaching deaf high school students Math, Civics, Arts, TLE, computer and P.E. The school closed due to the pandemic financial problem. My mother exposed me and brought me abroad. I travelled Singapore, Hongkong, Macau and South Korea. In early 2019, I got married to Gaberdino, also deaf and we are blessed with a hearing and normal son, Gaby. We enjoy parenthood life and happy family.
