Avoid the Flu and Other Illnesses During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Both the flu and COVID-19 are spread through infected droplets and particles in the air, and can cause severe illness — even death.

As cases of COVID-19 continue to appear, other respiratory illnesses, including the flu, haven’t gone away. Can you have the coronavirus and the flu at the same time?

Unfortunately, yes — and if you have the coronavirus and the flu at the same time, the resulting impact could be even more severe than having either infection alone. By this fall, some areas may have a test available that can look for both the coronavirus and flu viruses so you only need one test.

Cold and Flu Season Precautions: What to Do

Get a flu shot. Even if you usually skip a flu shot, this is the year to make sure you get one. It is safe for you to go to the doctor for a flu shot.
Ask your doctor if you should get a pneumonia shot, too.
Don’t forget the kids. It’s important to ensure your children (over 6 months old) get flu shots — and any other vaccines they need.
Learn more about keeping up with routine vaccinations for babies and kids during the coronavirus pandemic.
Care for yourself and your family with good nutrition, plenty of rest, proper hydration, regular exercise and stress management. And always stay home if you don’t feel well.
Continue protecting yourself from the coronavirus. 1. A gatekeeper serving as the triage officer is around to assess and to control entry of patients and pharmacy customers
2. Alcohol spray and footbath is available upon entry
4. Proper wearing of facemask is mandatory. We even give free facemasks to those who dont wear any.
We appreciate it more if you wear face shields.
5. Only 1 accompanying person is allowed to enter (or none at all if patient is ambulatory)
6. We urge everybody to follow the physical distancing signs / decals on the floor and walls
7. We observe the less than “15-minute rule” to minimize close contact
8. Exhaust fans are properly installed to meet the suggested airflow (medical engineering)
9. Air purifiers, sterilizers and UV lights are all available for decontamination
10. Our staff are required to be models to our patients in observing all the precautionary measures like wearing of masks, face shields and PPEs, as well as frequent self decontamination thru handwashing or alcohol.

Good day to all!
I bet your kids received 3 doses of Penta (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, HiB and Polio) whether from RHUs or from private MDs.
That’s not enough tho

They SHOULD receive BOOSTER doses of the ff:
- 18 months old (DTaP-IPV-HiB)
- 4-6 years old then (DPT/DTaP-IPV)
- 9 yrs old (Td/Tdap)

It is because their immunity from the vaccine declines and wanes over time as immunity from primary series is not life-long regardless which vaccines in the primary schedule was used.
School children could be susceptible to infection due to increased contact.

Dahil madami pa ring pasyente ang nakikiusap magpa check up, gumawa kami ng paraan para matulungan namin sila.

We view our patients through our V380Pro camera or through our glass window (if close inspection is needed) while talking to them via phone call.

Looking at their record in our EMS (Electronic Medical System) to check their past medical history is always a big help (mahirap pag di na rereview yung medical record)

Then we hand their prescription in the pharmacy for dispensing.
We give all the necessary instructions thru phone call, so our pharmacy assistant will just hand the prescribed meds to lessen her exposure to possible cases.
