If you’re driving along Negros South Road from Crossing Pulupandan to Bago City, be prepared for some unusual conditions. Volcanic ash from Mount Kanlaon’s recent eruption has settled on the road, coating it—and the vehicles passing through—with a layer of fine gray dust.

On top of that, there’s a noticeable smell of sulfur in the air, which might feel unpleasant, especially if you have a sensitive nose or respiratory issues. Drivers are advised to slow down and stay alert since the ash can make the road slippery. If you’re heading out, it’s a good idea to wear a face mask for added protection. Authorities are keeping an eye on the situation to keep everyone safe.
