This quote hit me hard because, honestly, I’ve been there—yung gusto ko lahat perfect bago magsimula. Planado dapat, ready lahat, walang sablay. Pero guess what? That mindset kept me stuck. I realized na kung hihintayin ko pang maging ‘ready’ lahat, I’ll never start.

What I’ve learned? You don’t need perfection. Kung anong meron ka ngayon, that’s enough. Small, imperfect steps are better than no steps at all. Progress is progress, kahit paunti-unti.

Life is beautiful, and it’s too short to wait for everything to be perfect. The journey itself, kahit messy or uncertain, is what makes it worth living.

Kaya if you’re overthinking like I used to, let this be your sign: start na. Kahit hindi perfect. Just start. 😉

Tuesday = Client Meeting Day!

Just finished my weekly meeting this morning, and about to hop on another one this afternoon.

Perks of working from home: comfy pajamas all day, no hassle commute, no dressing up, flexibility to take breaks whenever you need and so much more time with the fam! 😉

Before, in my past job, we had this Individual Performance Contract (IPC) - basically, a list of targets set for the year, and then you’d get rated based on how well you accomplish them.

Back then, it was all about meeting the company’s targets, with no room for personal growth.

Now? Things are different. For the past four years, I’ve continued setting my targets, but the twist is... it’s not just about work anymore—it’s all about ME. How I can grow as a person, not just as a professional.

And that’s the beauty I’ve found in freelancing: it’s all about your growth, your journey, with the freedom to design the life you want.

So when it comes to goal setting, here's how I do it now:

1️⃣ 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬: I first ask myself, "What do I want to achieve this year for my well-being, my relationships, or my personal growth?" It could be something like improving my health, learning a new skill, or spending more quality time with my family. Once I have those goals in mind, I break them down into smaller, actionable tasks. For example, if I want to focus on health, it might start with something simple like drinking more water or doing 10-minute stretches in the morning.

2️⃣ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬: I think about where I want to take my career and business. What do I want to achieve this year? Whether it’s expanding my services, learning a new software, or growing my client base. I write down these goals, then break them down into smaller steps that I can work on week by week. No goal is too big when it’s broken down into manageable tasks.

And here’s the best part: Learning to celebrate every little win. Kasi minsan, we’re too focused on the big picture and we forget to acknowledge how far we’ve come.

So if you’ve been feeling stuck, try this: pick one for your personal and professional goal and ask yourself, ‘What’s the first tiny step I can take today?’ Then, do it. You don’t need to have it all figured out right away. Start small, and let the momentum build. 😉

Throwback to a panel interview. The interviewer asked me, “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪?”

I took a deep breath (para kunwari calm lang, lol😅) and said, “𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚.”

Fast forward to today—OMG, I’ve set so many goals na. Some? Totally na-achieve naman pero yung iba? Ugh, epic fails ang peg. 🤣

But here’s what I’ve learned along the way: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟𝗦.

For others, it might look like:
👉 A steady paycheck (hello, security bes!)
👉 Fancy titles like manager, director, or VP
👉 Letters after their name (hello, MBA, CPA, PhD, LPT)
👉 A new house or car—kasi who doesn’t want that, right?
👉 or starting a new business

And honestly? Those are amazing goals.

The thing is success isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s not about what others think or expect—it’s about setting your OWN goals and crushing them.

So as we wrap up the year, let me ask you:

Have you ever tried something new and found yourself asking, “Hmm, kaya ko ba ‘to?” That was me when I decided to leave my 8-5 government job and dive into online freelancing. Ang daming doubts. Ang daming “what ifs.”

But then I thought, “What if I CAN do it?” So, I took that first step—shaky but determined. Day by day, I learned. Step by step, I grew. And soon enough, what felt impossible didn’t seem so scary anymore.

Sometimes, our biggest enemy is that tiny voice of doubt in our heads. But the secret? Think that you’re already good enough. You just have to believe it.

Because the only person who needs to believe in you… is YOU.

Whatever it is you’re chasing—job, passion, love life (yes, even that)—start with the belief that you can. Because you really, really can.

You just need to show up and trust yourself. Kaya mo yan! Believe it and the world will too. 😉

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗘𝗴𝗼

You know that feeling when you're in an argument, and deep down, you know you're wrong... pero ayaw mo pang aminin? 😅 Like, you're already searching for ways to defend your side, kahit alam mong hindi na tugma yung sinasabi mo? That’s ego talking, besh!

But here's the thing: Ego can be sneaky. It whispers, “𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙖𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜; 𝙞𝙩’𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠.” But the truth is, humility shows strength. When you own up to your mistakes, you free yourself from that awkward, heavy feeling of pretending to be someone you’re not.

So don’t let ego control you. Learn to say, “𝙊𝙤𝙥𝙨, 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙙.” It’s not the end of the world—promise. Mas nakakagaan pa nga ng buhay. 😉

Online Freelancing, Work-From-Home (WFH) jobs, and Virtual Assistance (VA) are often confused, but they are quite different in terms of how they operate and what they offer.

𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆: As an online freelancer, you’re essentially your own boss. You offer specific services (like writing, graphic design, website design, video editing etc.) to multiple clients, and you set your own rates, and work hours. It’s like running your own small business—you decide which projects to take on, and you can work with several clients at once. They are usually outputs-based.

𝐖𝐅𝐇 𝐉𝐎𝐁: A work-from-home job is like any regular full-time or part-time job, except you do your tasks remotely. You have a boss and typically follow a fixed schedule. The only difference is you’re working from home instead of working to a physical office.

𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄: A virtual assistant is someone who works remotely for another person or a company as an assistant. They can either have multiple clients (like freelancers) or work for one client full-time (similar to a WFH job). Typical tasks include scheduling appointments, making phone calls, making travel arrangements, and managing email accounts.
