The 23rd Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC) is set to bring together student publications from different higher educational institutions in the Ilocos Region on February 19-21, 2025 at the Puerto de San Juan Beach Resort Hotel, San Juan, La Union.

With the theme "PRESS PLAY: Campus Journalists as Game Changers in Digital Revolution", this year's press conference will focus on the important role of student journalists and publications in shaping the digital landscape and in bringing the fight for press freedom into different media platforms.

𝗣𝗦𝗨-𝗔𝗖 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦!

Pangasinan State University-Asingan Campus holds its annual PSU Cares—Sharing Love through Giving activity at the Campus Library today, December 16, 2024.

The PSU Asingan family seeks to help and give back to the community as they share their love and gratitude through a "gift giving" activity. This initiative is spearheaded by the dedicated and passionate Campus Executive Director, Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, with the deans of the two colleges: Mr. JB O. Doria, College of Technology and Business, and Dr. Honelly Mae S. Cascolan, College of Education.

Alongside them are the hardworking department chairpersons of the different departments: Mr. Laurence D. Agsalud (BSE and BEE), Mr. Carlos G. Castillo Jr (BIT), Ms. Ma. Jo Ann Ventura (BSIT), Dr. Lobien Sorian (BSBA), Ms. Marry Ann S. Naluaran (BTLEd) and Ms. Leonarda L. Laguna (Non Teaching) with the different faculty of every department and staff as well.

The beneficiaries of this activity were chosen from all the students of the campus to whom have stories of hard work and perseverance in studying despite the financial incapacity and different struggles faced by their families. The students as beneficiaries per department are as follow: Kyla Geraldine Dayag and Rohini Sudhakar- BSE, Samantha Reyes and Michael Angelo Madronio-BEE, Edsel Rafanan- BIT, Eunice Repollo and Mitchelle Retutal-BSIT, Kristina Fructuoso-BSBA, John Rey Andrada Medrano and Julyna Francisco- BTLEd, and Joey Fontanilla and Rodel Flores- Non Teaching.All of them received christmas grocery items that they can prepare this holiday season.

Sweet smiles and tears of joy are shared as they received these gifts from the PSU Asingan family. “Sobra po ang pagpapasalamat ko sa PSU Asingan sa pagpili sa aking pamangkin na si Kyla, alam niyo po, malaking bagay po ito sa kanilanb pamilya dahil wala na po siyang nanay at disabled po ang tatay niya. Kahit paano, magiging masaya ang pasko nilang mag-anak dahil sa inyo” from a relatives of one of the beneficiaries.

𝐏𝐒𝐔-𝐀𝐂 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯-𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭

Students from Pangasinan State University-Asingan Campus (PSU-AC) showcased their exceptional talents at the university-wide Cultural Fest held on December 13, 2024 at PSU - Lingayen Campus, bringing home multiple awards.

Emmanuel Dalioan, a BSBA student, impressed the judges in the Instrumental Solo (Piano) category, earning 2nd Runner-Up honors. Similarly, Ellen Mae De Leon, also from BSBA, secured the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the Vocal Solo (Kundiman) category.

Bench Zyra Gayap, a BSE student, claimed another 2nd Runner-Up finish in the Pop Solo category, while the Vocal Duet of Ronnie Pacaba and Faith Pagatpatan, both BSBA students, also clinched 2nd Runner-Up recognition.

Other PSU-AC representatives including Alfred John Talania and Mia Charles De Vere, who joined this year's search for Mr. & Ms. PSU. And Jayson Quitos who participated in instrumental solo Traditional Guitar.

This would not be possible without the all-out support and guidance of their coaches, spearheaded by the Campus Executive Director, Dr. Madlyn Tingco, the ever supportive Dean of Students and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Philip G. Nonales, Cultural Affairs Coodinator, Mr. Christopher Espero, Sports Coodinator, Dr. Tyrone Lopez, alongside SSC Adviser, Mr. Reven Ferrer, and SSC Co-adviser, Mr. Andrew Foronda.

"I am beyond proud. I know that they’ve put so much effort into this competition. From their rehearsals to their actual performance, they really gave their best,” said Jordan Navarro, Governor of Society of Culture, Arts, and Language Enthusiasts (SCALE). #
