In line with the Office of the Student Development and Welfare Centralโ€™s advocacy on anti-illegal drugs, Aparri Campus Student Council spearheads Drug Awareness Campaign and Seminar today, December 16, at CSUA Gymplex.

First year and second year students across the seven (7) colleges joined the said seminar, aimed at learning various information regarding negative impacts of illegal drugs and its complexities.

Dr. Rexcel Braceros, one of the Campus Student Councilโ€™s advisers talked on his opening remarks the importance of beating serious mode on the talk stating, โ€œYou should participate and listen carefully to our speaker because eventually, you will be needing the information in the near future.โ€

Meanwhile, Dr. Crisanto Sait, the resource speaker lectured the different modus and consequences once an illegal drug is caught on hand or carried, and its impact once a person used the abused drugs. He even gave a lesson to ponder on stating, โ€œAlways think of your future before deciding to delve into wrong deeds. Mas magandang rarampa kayo with your black gown soon than wearing an orange shirt at precinct.โ€

This advocacy and campaign reiterates the importance of being aware with illegal drugs and its negative implications on oneโ€™s health and future life.

This was my reward for taking a leap of faith,
not knowing where would it lead me.

Then suddenly, the words "I donโ€™t want to study anymore" slipped out of my mouth. It felt strange, as Iโ€™ve always enjoyed studying. I had never felt myself losing interest in everything, yet here I was, wondering what had happened to me.

I never thought Iโ€™d become the person I once despised. Why does kindness even matter in a world where people throw stones at you, stab you with words as sharp as knives, and leave you hollow with their cruelty?

Suddenly, merely surviving became more important than seizing the day. Suddenly, nothing else seemed to matterโ€”not even breaking your own heart, not even breaking your bones.

Does it even matter if I give away every piece of myself, only to be called selfish for keeping just my bones?

When you dwell too much on what the future holds, thinking about possibilities beyond controlโ€ฆ sleepless nights with a heavy heart become routine. Oh God, what sins did I commit to deserve this kind of suffering?

Maybe I do deserve this for wanting to be accepted and loved. Maybe I deserve this struggle because I took the risk to pursue my studies, to complete my degree. Perhaps this is my punishment for believing in myself too much, unaware of the consequences of my ambition.

I wanted to feel safe, to go back home, but where? Where could I possibly fit when there's no space left for me? Where can I run when even โ€œhomeโ€ feels empty?

Life has taken so much from me, leaving me to merely exist. One night, I found myself on my knees, wondering where the stars had gone from the empty night sky.

BONIFACIO DAY | In the heart of the Philippines, a hero took a stand,
Fighting for freedomโ€”a dream to fulfill.
He endured pain, loss, and fear,
Sacrificing for his Lupang Hinirang.

In the pages of history stands a symbol of courage:
Andres Bonifacio, with his fiery passion for his land.
He rose with boldness, free as a bird,
Fighting for a nation's breathโ€”Tayo'y Pilipino.

For libertyโ€™s cost, for the people's cry,
The bayonet struckโ€”the bullet sang.
Justice called, and he answered with flame,
A man betrayed, yet his legacy remains.

The red, the blue, and the whiteโ€”the colors we defend,
A patriotโ€™s soul, too fierce to bend.
