𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀

College scholars, along with their parents, attended the scholarship payout and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) visit with a title Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) & Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) at the covered court of Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) on September 16, 2024.

The event also featured the Smarties Scholars, founded by Congresswoman Dra. Anna York Bondoc.

Bondoc reaffirmed her commitment to support and assist students under her district.

"𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘰 𝘱𝘰 𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘬," Bondoc said.

"𝘐𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘬𝘰. 𝘔𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺 [𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭], 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘸𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 2𝘯𝘥, 3𝘳𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 4𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳," she added.

Scholarship grantees also expressed their gratefulness towards Bondoc, the honorable guests, and all the persons involved to accomplish the payout.

"𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯. 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨-𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯," Angelo Usi, one of the scholarship grantees said.

Later on, after submitting the requirements, the students successfully received their scholarship grants.

Later on, Dr. Normando C. Simon, the Campus Director highlighted the new projects being built inside the school including the Academic Building 3 and the renovation and extension of the covered court.

Norbert A. Sonza, RN, LPT, also known by students as Sir Uno left a remarkable yet entertaining discussion about first aid in a seminar conducted at Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) on September 12, 2024 at the school’s covered court.

The seminar was titled Basic First Aid: Training for Future Professionals and was organized by the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines DHVSU Apalit Chapter (JTHMAP-DAC).

Sonza discussed the importance of basic first aid in everyone’s lives and reinforced the students’ knowledge by demonstrating the different ways and approaches to various types of injuries and accidents.

Moreover, he performed multiple ways on how to treat different types of wounds, seizure, stroke, sprain, dysmenorrhea, and nosebleed.

Additionally, a game was included in the seminar to entertain and encourage the students to participate.

Furthermore, Sandra Allene Q. Juico, the event coordinator and one of the Hospitality Management instructors in DAC explained the reason for carrying out the insightful seminar.

“The reason I organized this basic first aid training seminar together with Sir Stephen, Sir Marvin, and the JTHMAP organization was to ensure that students are well-prepared to handle emergencies and other situations. … Most of the participants were from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program, as these students are learning skills in cooking, baking, and event planning and are exposed to various risks. This seminar helps them understand how to manage those situations effectively. It is all about giving them the knowledge they need to respond to crises effectively,” Juico said.

Furthermore, George S. Cabusao a third year student from the BSHM program conveyed his insights about the seminar.

“Masaya siyang experience kase at least sa sarili ko masasabi ko na may natutunan akong bago na pwedeng makatulong sa ibang tao, lalo na yung mga tinuro ni Sir Uno na tungkol sa sprain at seizure,” Cabusao stated.

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students, both 1st and 2nd year attended the orientation and demonstration prepared by the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP). The event took place at Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) covered court on August 30, 2024.

The demonstration included the presentation of proper attire, napkin folding, and bartending.

Venessa Marie N. Derain, a BSHM instructor presented the proper attire for BSHM students with the help of student representatives. She pointed out specific uniform requirements for various practical tasks related to their program.

Later on, Marvin B. Buensuceso, also a BSHM instructor led the workshop on napkin folding. He began by explaining the significance of napkin folding in enhancing the dining experience. Then, with the help of a student representative, Buensuceso performed various folding techniques.

Additionally, Ma. Fatima M. Danganan, another BSHM instructor executed the bartending demonstrations for tea and coffee. She showcased the proper techniques for preparing, brewing, and serving these types of beverages.

Moreover, John Rev Mandap, the Executive Vice-President of JTHMAP expressed his appreciation for the presenters at the orientation.

"The demonstration was full of surprises. I can tell that it was a fun and successful event. As you can see on the faces of the students, they also enjoyed it. We are hoping that events like this will keep going on our campus and will mark a new chapter not only in our organization, but also for other organizations in DAC," he said.

For the first time in history, Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) successfully transformed students into degree holders.

The batch of students who entered the school in the year 2020 are now graduates. They celebrated the completion of their college journey early at 7:00 in the morning at Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center. | August 16, 2024.

Included in the ceremony are a total of 273 graduates from different programs in DAC which are the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT).

Don Honorio Ventura State University - Apalit Campus (DAC) welcomed some honorable guests at the inaugural orientation for the freshmen of A.Y. 2024-2025, which was led by the Campus Director, Dr. Normando C. Simon at the school covered court, August 09, 2024.

Simon, who gave the opening speech recalled how DAC came into existence with the help of several people and the struggles they faced in the beginning due to the lack of physical school environment.

Simon said, "Wala naman kasing DHVSU Apalit, it was just a small room in the side of the stage of the covered court in the municipal ground of Apalit."

Despite the challenges, Simon empasized that he strived to successfully establish the campus in order to provide quality education for Apaliteños.

In a similarly moving and motivating address, Secretary Glenn J. Danting, one of the honored guests emphasized how important it is to keep in mind our past as we go forward since it may serve as a basis for the future.

"Ang taong 'di marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan," he quoted.

The final speaker, Mayor Jun D. Tetangco, assured the students that he will always be there to help if they ever need it. He concluded his speech by giving a hint regarding the financial aid for education that he will be offering to students which resulted to cheers and applause from the crowd.

Moreover, Vice Mayor Peter C. Nucom and other VIP guests were also present in the said event.

Students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Science in Business and Administration (BSBA), Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) listen as the school stakeholders educate them regarding what they should know and expect for the whole academic year.

Moreover, Mayor Jun Tetangco of the municipality of Apalit, together with his companions visited the DAC students to share words of inspiration.

𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐑: Nesthy Petecio, the Philippines' representative in Women's 57kg Boxing finished her fight in Paris Olympics 2024 with a bronze medal.

Petecio's opponent, Julia Szeremeta from Poland concluded her victory during the semi-final round.

Moreover, Petecio officially brought honor to the Philippines by representing the country and bringing home its fourth Paris Olympic medal.
