Learning to forgive isn’t always easy.
But it’s always good for you.
❤️ It’s good for your health. It can help lower the risk of heart attacks, improve your sleep, and reduce levels of anxiety, depression, and stress.
🧠 It helps you move forward. When you forgive, you let go of resentment and can heal without the anger.
And more importantly…
📖 It’s taught in the Bible. There are many verses and stories in the Bible that teach the importance of learning how to forgive, what real forgiveness looks like, and why we need forgiveness.
So if you’ve been holding a grudge all year long, or there’s someone you’ve been meaning to say “sorry” to but haven’t gotten around to it…today is the day to try it.
As Daniel, the writer of the “How I Learned to Forgive” blog, says, “Forgiveness is a process. At first, it can be hard. Like, really hard. But it gets easier every time you do it. Forgiveness requires humility when you ask for it, and kindness when you give it, and every step must be earned and made in good faith. God forgives, and He shouldn’t expect any less of us.”
