So many awesome things happening in the studio. Last weekend we recorded a metal act from Kalinga called Quantum Solace. They drove all the way from one mountain to our mountain. The band was tight and put up an awesome live performance for their video and also a great recording performance. Rock is not dead!!!

Old school trick to make your drum kit sound larger than life!!!

1. Get an acoustic guitar and tune it to the resonant frequency of the kick. Then place it as close as possible to the drum set. Then mic the sound hole with an SDC. In our case its a Neumann km184.

2. Send the drum sound out to another speaker in an emplty bathroom or any empty room. Then look for the spot with the most reflections and mic with another sdc. Used a presonus reference mic here.

Mix in the sound of the room mics with the spot mics to taste 🙂

Feels and sounds like stadium/arena drums!!

Learn some fundamentals in using analog equipment, routing and other cool analog equipment. Get to know the Machines that are responsible for some of the best recordings world wide. Learn how to intergrate analog with any digital sytem. And so much more.
