Its intricate design, with laurel-like motifs, symbolizes growth and perseverance, reflecting the holistic mission to advance not only environmental preservation but also social equity, economic vitality, and global well-being. Each peak rising from the crown embodies the determination of women who champion the diverse, interconnected goals for a better world.

The crownโ€™s diamond-like stones add brilliance and purity, representing clarity of purpose in addressing complex global challengesโ€”from eradicating poverty and hunger to promoting quality education, gender equality, and peace. The balance of geometric precision and natural forms speaks to the harmony needed to achieve sustainable development, ensuring that progress aligns with the well-being of both people and the planet.

More than a symbol of beauty and achievement, this crown is a beacon of responsibility and action. The wearer is entrusted with a mission to inspire, advocate for the 17 SDGs, and lead initiatives that drive transformative change. Whether itโ€™s promoting clean water, climate action, or inclusive growth, this crown calls for dedication to a world where all can thriveโ€”an emblem of hope, unity, and commitment to a sustainable future.

November 15, 2024 is marked as a day of celebration as University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag is made part of Dr. Maria Rosa โ€œBingโ€ Nieva Carrionโ€™s 47th formal book launch titled โ€˜Asian Heroesโ€™, a written collection of modern-day Asian heroes known for their legendary achievements in their respective fields which is released every two years.

Heroes are made and forged through the fiery challenges that life throws at them. It is through these struggles that one is tempered, embodying both might and righteousness, and whose glories become a beacon and a guiding light for others to take inspiration from and follow.

Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag is one such example, a visionary whose heart embodies the culture and excellence that is Bataan Peninsula State University. Under her mentorship even before taking the mantle of University President, she has made significant steps as the Dean of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, establishing it as the Universityโ€™s flagship program which continues to dominate the Licensure Examinations, producing Topnotchers in the field of nursing and midwifery as strong-minded and caring Peninsulares.

University President Matibag is not simply a hero, she is not a figure in a story book or a name in the annals of history, unreachable and existing in a different world and time. She is a caring mother, not only towards her own children and family, but also to each and every student who steps into the gates of BPSU. With open arms, exhibiting that same passion and care that she has always carried throughout her life, every Peninsulares has become an extension of that familial connection.

Our sincerest, heartfelt, and most exciting congratulations for this honorable achievement, University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag!

With the threat that Typhoon Pepito poses, classes across all campuses, as well as students with OJTs and hospital duties, will be shifting to asynchronous learning for tomorrow Monday, November 18, 2024.

The University advises the faculty to provide their students with enough time to accomplish their requirements during this period to ensure student welfare and academic progression.

Similarly, office transactions will be shifting to online. We encourage students and faculty to make use of our Universityโ€™s online services and stay informed via official BPSU channels.

Keep safe and God bless us all, Peninsulares!
