Job Title: Telecommunications Field Engineer & Radio RF Engineer
Location: Honiara, Solomon Islands
Job Type: Part-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to join our team for exciting projects in the Solomon Islands. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and equipment in both urban and remote locations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain telecommunications networks, including fiber optics, wireless, and satellite systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of telecom equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during all operations.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support and training to local teams as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work completed.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree/Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Pacific region.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, including wireless, fiber, and satellite systems.
• Hands-on experience with tools and equipment for network installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in remote locations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and work in remote areas of the Solomon Islands.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Certifications in relevant telecom technologies or safety protocols (preferred).
