This week, we were honoured to donate studio carpet tiles to the Communication Arts Department at Divine Word University.

With support from Communication Arts alumni Linda Sataro, Aaron English and Joshua Kais, we are committed to supporting the department that laid the foundation for our careers. The carpet tiles, valued at over K1,000, are set to enhance the TV studio’s ambiance and functionality, creating a professional space where students can refine their skills.

Patrick Matbob, Head of the Communication Arts Department, thanked LAKE Media and the alumni for spearheading the change, saying it brings the department closer to completing the studio upgrade, a project that began with the help of another alumnus, Scott Waide, who initially assisted with its design.

"With limited resources for media equipment and facilities, contributions like these are invaluable to our department’s mission. We look forward to future collaborations that will enhance our students’ learning experiences,” Mr Matbob said.

David Wapar, Senior Tutor and Studio Supervisor, said the purchase of these carpet tiles, following last year’s installation of sound-proof foam on the studio walls, further enhances the facility to better serve students' learning needs and meet industry standards.

This donation represents the start of what LAKE Media hopes will be ongoing support for the growth and success of Divine Word University’s students and faculty.

Ms Sataro, Mr English and Mr Kais, together with LAKE Media are urging former Communication Arts students to reach out through Mr Matbob or connect with us on our social media platforms to join us in this effort to improve the facilities and learning to world-class standards.

It was an honour to speak with Dr John Momis, a noble leader in Papua New Guinea's political landscape and former President for the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

He was in Madang this week to speak with staff and students at Divine Word University on key aspects of PNG's journey to independence and the National Goals and Directive Principles that have shaped the nation 🇵🇬

Dr Momis played a key role in PNG's path to independence and was a member of the House of Assembly and later the Constitutional Planning Committee Chairperson. He helped draft the PNG Constitution, which laid the foundation for our governance and democracy. His legacy offers valuable lessons for the current and future leaders of PNG, particularly in fostering peace, unity, and development in a diverse society.
