Bikes, bands, barbecues and beers … the concert at Joes Farm, Whangamatā, on the last day of the three day Kickdown Festival had all that and more.
Headliners Shihad treated their fans, some lifelong, some who weren’t yet born when they formed in 1988, to a selection of songs from their ten albums, played from latest to first.
Fellow Kiwi legends Th Dudes , Kora and the D4 , and relative newcomers Dick Move completed the crowd pleasing lineup.
In between bands, there were motorcycle stunts to watch , tattoos to get, and for those looking for something a bit more challenging, archery, axe throwing and medieval sword fighting fit the bill. The weather was great, the food was great, the music was great. Here’s to next years event. Can’t wait.
