Four generations on today's walk!

Dad was looking for some motivation to get off the couch and my daughter is staying in the bus with me this week so she got dragged along for the ride 😅

I'm absolutely loving throwing the moko in his backpack for some adventure time.. he seems to be enjoying it too.

Definitely feeling blessed!

Aratiatia / Huka Falls Trail - Taupō

Apparently (after Tauhara) I haven't been put off hiking completely. Today I ventured off on a much easier trail, although it took just about as long! Some gorgeous things to see and one tired out doggo at the end!

TAUPO?

After an amazing time in Hastings with the whanau, I began heading back to Gisborne today.. but the high winds (and stupid drivers heading to R&V) seem to have blown me off track and towards Taupo/BOP, where the weather seems much nicer!

Haven't decided on the exact destination just yet, but that's one of the best parts about my lifestyle in this beasty bus. The destination doesn't really matter.. rather it's the journey and experiences along the way that count.

I'll be on the hunt for some nice walking tracks, cafes, op shops and free activities if you have any recommends.

Let's see where this road leads me 🙂

HAWKES BAY, GISBORNE & EAST COAST WITHOUT POWER IN SUDDEN OUTAGE

Dozens of power outage reports are just now emerging from all over the East Coast, Gisborne, Napier, Hastings and surrounding areas. It seems the entire towns are now without electricity, affecting tens of thousands of households just days before Christmas.

Unisons website is down, but they have confirmed the outages on their page, where they also advise consumers to check Transpower NZ for updates. Transpower have reported the outage is due to a lightning strike.

IS THE CLUTCH DONE YET?!

Yep, I know, it's taken me three weeks to complete a job that might normally take a couple of days.

I knew it would take a while as I had no experience or any idea really.. then I had to wait for parts to arrive (twice!), attend a whanau tangi, take my cat for surgery (she's recovering well) and I was battling those damn ciggie cravings!

Everything considered, I reckon I'm doing pretty well for time 😅

Big shout out to Chris for lending me his time today!! I couldn't have done much without that extra set of hands! Forever greatful!

Now let's get this bus moving!
