Aadhi short for Aadarsh (Sanskrit - आदर्श) denotes an indian male name meaning "an ideal". He hails from downtown Bangalore, the music and beer capital of Southern India, and grew up in a family of esteemed musicians. His old man, brother, cousins, and aunts/uncles would sing, strum, and jam like there’s no tomorrow. Blues, Retro, Rock, acoustic guitar, Reggae were iconic in the 90s and still is!
His keen ear for music has developed over the years and a steady transition to electronica happened in the early 2000s. His unending taste for deep, soulful synths, progressive melodies was set in stone as he moved to Thailand, early 2012 to pursue a music production course with SAE Thailand. Up until then, he had traversed many dance-floors across Goa, Bangalore, Mumbai and Nepal. He worked for BlueFrog Mumbai (2011) that introduced him to music and artist management. Around that time he picked up some mixing and transitioning skills using Traktor Pro on his laptop. From then on the dance-floor energy transitioned to hot spots in South East Asia and Australia/NZ. Bangkok was the driver in the underground music scene followed by Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Chiang Mai. During his journey, he colluded with organizers, DJs, and event planners. After Thailand, he decided to see what the western world has to offer in terms of music, dance, and a different lifestyle so he embarked on a journey to find himself tuning and grooving in the land of the long white cloud. Auckland, Queenstown and Wellington were regions where dance-floor wreckage avidly took place. During this time he played at rural remix festival (2016) Iron bar, D4 (Allen Street), Birdcage and several private gigs/ house parties (2015-current). Queenstown would feature a lot of renowned international artists and top gigs through the likes of Electric Rush. It was on his Melbourne, Bali and Ho Chi Minh visit, where he witnessed a striving underground music scene that pushed him to pursue his passions yet again. From the high end Funktion ones, JBL Highfi’s and Bose monitors’, music and dance has only gotten bigger, bolder, more profound and invigorating to say the least. His DJ sets are very eclectic and features artists that he’s seen live, predominantly underground dance music. Expect groovy synths, euphoric melodies, chronic bass-lines and surreal tempos. Strictly Under-ground is the theme! His style is versatile and includes Deep House, Tech House, Funky Minimal, Disco, Garage House, Chicago/Detroit Style House, Techno, Minimal and Melodic Techno, Tech psy/psytechno,Psychedelic Trance (Full on night time/Forest), Minimal Tech etc. Aadhi's base is now in Wellington and the idea is to get his honed DJ skills and eclectic music tastes through the wider dance floors across the Australian and Indian subcontinents and ofcourse S.E Asia in an effort to bring people together and set the dancefloor on fire. He’s ready to go behind the speakers this time around but his love for dancing will not cease to exist as well as his permanent emotional attachment to music so don’t be surprised if you see him stomping away behind the console!
