Welcome to Fill A Gap - my new venture starting November 2017. Based in the small towns around the Waikato - Morrinsville, Matamata, Te Aroha, Paeroa - I have a large range of experience to come into your business and manage it while you take the much needed holiday. So many owner operators are unable to take a break and I am here to help with that. Below is my background - I have done many things and have a plethora of transferrable skills. And please note that along with the management work, I have also cleaned the toilets, served the customers, made the tea and dealt with a wide range of peope and work.

CooperAitken Ltd
Practice Manager – April 2003 to August 2015

Cooper Aitken is a large Chartered Accountancy firm based in the Waikato. With six Directors and over 100 staff it has a strong history of providing accounting excellence to rural, commercial and family clients.

Responsibilities include:
β€’ Strategic and operational Human Resource Management including interviewing, employing, contracts, performance reviews, performance management and input into training
β€’ Workflow management including CRM, work flow tracking and reporting, administration management, IT support and backup to the Business Advisory Officer in the areas of HR and Employment Relations information for clients of the practice
β€’ Management of key stakeholder relationships including the communication of technical and non-technical information
β€’ Ongoing process improvement identification and development to ensure continuous improvement and system design
β€’ Part the management team responsible for managing the day to day running of the business including contribution to the monthly board meetings and strategic planning

Dickson Holiday Park

Dickson Holiday Park is a successful family owned business of which I am a shareholder. I was an integral part of the team who doubled the turnover in the first three years of ownership. While I am less active in the business nowadays my role still focusses on the financial and the human resource aspects.

Responsibilities include:
β€’ Preparation, presentation and reporting on monthly financial and performance
β€’ Human resource management including interpretation, application and compliance of employment law matters
β€’ Development of marketing strategies and preparation of marketing material

Waikato Management School Corporate Consulting Project
Team Leader / Liaison – 2006 – 2007

Co-led a consultancy team of seven to provide recommendations to a client company in the Biopharmaceutical sector which included researching potential new product development.

The Computer Suite Ltd
Management / Software Design/ Web Design - 1985 – 2003

This business was owned and operated by myself and my husband. Initially established for the purpose of selling computers and financial solutions, we started developing solutions for our clients. This led to the development of an accounting software package, The Trader Series Ltd (NZ Software of the year 1987) which was the software of choice for most training organisations until the mid 1990’s. We sold this program to CBA Accounting and focussed the business on contract work, both in software development and application training.

Responsibilities included:
β€’ Accounting software design
β€’ Budget forecasting and reconciliation of financial reports
β€’ Delivering IT training to businesses specifically in spreadsheet skills and general computer knowledge
β€’ Designing and developing websites specifically focussed at the New Zealand Kennel Club and New Zealand dog breeders

MicroLab (a division of Coopers & Lybrand)
Computer Consultant – 1986 - 1990

As a new concept in an accountancy practice, MicroLab was started to offer a full range of computer consultancy work to the Firms’ clients. Initially I was employed to spearhead the software support area however my role grew into full consultancy.

Responsibilities included:
β€’ Development of relationships with suppliers and customers
β€’ Development and facilitating of a wide range of IT based training courses for clients
β€’ Building a strong brand image with a regular column in the IT industry leading magazine at the time, Bits & Bytes
