Thanks to Chris Schulz & The Spinoff for letting an old fart wax nostalgic about the sordid 30-edition history of a strange fest that burned bright for a decade before imploding & being reborn inside the distinguished New Zealand International Film Festival like some giger alien.

Incredibly rare screening of Ronald Hugh Morrison’s NZ small town, gothic & absolute classic screens this Friday 8pm.

The same night as a girl is slain in the woods, the teenagers Sam and Les are robbed of all of their hard earned hens. In the quest for their hens they cross the murderer’s path.

Incredibly Strange uber fan Steve Austin created this fun mini-doc on the accidental action star of some mindblowing 80s Indonesian cinema. They called him RAMBU! - fyi - no relation to RAMBO for legal reasons.

This Friday we open at the Hollywood Avondale with special 35mm reel-to-reel screening - Incredibly Strange Opening Night Party w/ The Love Witch on 35mm and a pop-up bar by Golden Dawn: Tavern of Power will be around for the duration of the film festival. Get your strange on and come see 50 films of the New Zealand International Film Festival that are playing from July 21 - Aug 6.
