This is me around age 22. I used to play a fair bit in those days at a club called Calibre in St Kevin’s arcade on K Rd. It was quite the spot (I’ll spare you the history lesson - but look it up!). It used to open at midnight, and didn’t really get busy until the wee small hours. The peaktime set - often helmed by the late, great Soane - was 6-8am! Auckland clubbing history! Anyway: that same space is now called Whammy Bar, and tomorrow night we are having a party with our pal - we open at 11.30pm, and I don’t think we’re allowed to go til 8am. Come party with us!
