A big thanks to everyone who came out last night. It was great to see & hear Scott again and ups to everyone who got up, sang and played. The bar was full & hopping. We'll do it all again next year. 🙂

This Saturday night we release this year's West Coast Compilation Number Two album at the Woodstock in Greymouth. We'll be playing some of the tunes off the album, the artists will be there and will also be playing a selection of whatever they want and there's an open mic session as well with the studio band in attendance. Both cd's will be available for sale - Number One from last year and this year's Number Two - for the cheapo price of $20 each or $35 for the pair. Kick off is 7:30 and we're all looking forward to a grand night out.

Saturday week - March 16th 7:30pm - at the Woodstock Greymouth grill, we'll be having our release gig for this year's West Coast Compilation Number Two album. 12 original tracks by 6 of our local artists. We'll play a few of the tunes off it, you'll be able to buy one at the bar, (and one of Compilation Number One too) then we'll have an open mike night as well with the artists, members of the studio band and anyone else who wants to hop up and have a play.

If it's anything like last year's one we'll all have a ball. See you there.

We're really pleased to announce the release of our 2nd West Coast compilation album 'West Coast Compilation Number Two' on this Waitangi Day 2024. 12 original tunes by six local artists - Scott Burrowes, The Runanga Blues Band, Deborah Wright, A J Travis, Josie-Rose Skipper and Soulfire - recorded at South Street Studio in Runanga in 2023.

We hope you have as much pleasure listening to it as we had making it.

The cd's for our West Coast Compilation Number Two are under construction at South Street Studio. Which means the release date can't be far away. And it's not. The 2nd week of February. Which is next week. Two original tracks each from Scott Burrowes, The Runanga Blues Band, Deborah Wright, A J Travis, Josie-Rose Skipper and Soulfire. Wahoo, we're excited. 🙂

Construction is underway in the studio for the first batch of Weka Records West Coast Compilation Number Two cd's. Release can't be that far away. 🙂

Welcome to 2024 everyone. We'll just quietly slip this retrospective album of Geoff's earlier works out to welome the new year. 9 original tracks recorded on Portastudios in a Sydney attic between 2005 and 2010. Enjoy.

Our third release, Fiasco Junction by Punakaiki poet Trevor Hayes and local musicians Geoff Columbus and Danny Wilson, is now available for download. Nine of Trevor's poems set within nine avant garde musical pieces composed and performed by Geoff Columbus and Danny Wilson.

We're very pleased with this work and proud to have it in our catalog. Studio made cd's will be available shortly.

All pieces recorded, mixed and mastered at South Street Studio, Runanga, Grey 7803, West Coast New Zealand.

Over a year in the making, we're really pleased to release our first West Coast Compilation album the 'West Coast Compilation Number One' and the 3rd Weka Records release - number WK003.

Six original West Coast artists - Ken Fairs, Piers Wilkinson, Mystiq Catalyst, Danny Wilson, Geoff Columbus and Stella Interna plus a host of local supporting musicians presenting 12 of their original compositions all recorded at our South Street Studio..

We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

WR001 is now out by local Runanga musician Geoff Columbus. 'Songs of Family and the Coast' contains nine original tracks about life, the universe and everything recorded in the laundry of his old mining villa, in the West Coast coal town of Runanga between 2020 and 2021.
