Taking Off, Sir Roger Hall’s wickedly funny comedy starring AA'er Laura Hill, and directed by AA'er Simon Prast, opens on September 5th through til 15th at Tadpole Theatre, Takapuna.

The play is based around four intrepid middle-aged Kiwi women as they set off on their big “OE” to Europe. It is now or never!! The play is poignant, funny and sensitive. The characters are simultaneously terrified and exhilarated, but however they feel they are Taking Off…

Based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton, WE WILL ROCK YOU is on in Wellington through until 1st September, and stars AA'er Nomi Cohen.

Elton fashioned this hilarious futurist comedy around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust and of course, We Will Rock You.

The musical takes place in a future age on a planet once called Earth that is now controlled by a mighty corporation...rock music is unheard and all musical instruments are banned. The hope of breaking free rests with an unlikely resistance-an alliance of rebel Bohemians.

Can Desiree save the show and her career at the same time? Will one little clip ensure she can keep bringing her gardening knowledge to the masses. But does she have the ability to pull it off? Or will it all fall apart at the seams, crashing her back down to soil when the TV programmers pull their leavesers?

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Stig Eldred’s passing. Stig was a much loved member of the acting community in New Zealand and overseas. His acting credits over the decades include 'Power Rangers', 'Hercules', 'Hope & Wire' & 'King Kong'. He had a vast theatre background particularly with Auckland Theatre Company in '12 Angry Men' and 'Death of a Salesman'. Stig will be greatly missed, our aroha goes out to his family and friends at this time.
