He might never score a try, he might miss tackles and fumble passes...

She might dribble the balll all the way down the field the wrong way and kick it in her own goal. She might stare into space and totally miss a cue.

Sometimes they might show outstanding courage, brilliance or sheer luck.

No matter what. I am your biggest fan, my child. First place, last place or anywhere in between, you always win I my eyes.

You are doing your best, taking part, learning and ever improving and please, please, please keep having fun.

Overcoming resistance. Making it easier for yourself. It doesn't have to be hard to be good for you!. What are your resistances or sticking points that make it hard to do that thing you know you should do? How can you remove these barriers or make them less sticky? Make it as easy for yourself as possible. Life is about being your best with a smile! The more we enjoy the process, the more we will do it and love the results.

Running in the morning is dark, cold, damp and really hard to get out the door. Possible ways to reduce the resistance: A fleecy pink tracksuit, head-torch, gloves, good podcast and hyperactive dog. Also reminding myself how good it will feel afterwards and knowing I've started the day well.

Sarah, Kylie and the team at Manawatu RDA have shown such amazing care and dedication in the daily treatment of Ngaba's eye for the past SEVEN WEEKS. Giving him antibiotic and steroid treatments onto the eye multiple times a day. We are finally seeing what could have been a nasty ulcer leading to loss of the eye now healing and looking more comfortable. What's more, these ladies are so kind and patient that Ngaba has actually got more compliant with the treatments over time.

The dedication, care, ongoing daily medications, nighttime checks and treatments that you, the owners and caregivers, put in to your animals often amazes me. It is this commitment and effort that makes all the difference to their recovery.

I was talking to a friend recently about how the seasons are different every year. The animals, insects and plants detect differences in the seasons too and sometimes weather patterns can trick them into performing seasonal activities out of their normal timing.

Our older laying hens seem to have gone through their autumn moult early this year and are starting to pick up laying again and we are still more than a month shy of the shortest day. Here is a basic summary article about moulting. If you would like more details about how and why chickens (or other animals) moult and how to care for them you can follow the links at the bottom of the article or request me to write a more detailed article.

My hens have stopped laying and there are feathers everywhere. Is there something wrong? If you have horses, or long-haried pets, you will be all too familiar with ‘moulting’ (molting). That dreaded spring event that gets everything covered with hair but results in a gleaming new summer coat und...

One of the biggest honors I have as a vet is to be able to help animals pass peacefully at home with their family.

Thankyou for letting me share this special time of grief and love and remembering and to be there when your beloved pet passes on.

The special offer price on the mentoring/coaching for lifestyle block owners or prospective owners is $75+gst/hour (+ travel) if you book during April or May. You only pay for the time I spend with you. No reporting fees. Minimum time 1 hour (no maximum 😀). No obligation to sign up for further visits.

I love hearing people's ideas and vision and helping them achieve these. Why not have an initial chat and see what we might be able to do to support you.

What would you like to see on your farmhealth services website? I'm in writing mode!

Most of you probably know, I was diagnosed with ADHD just over a year ago. Noone who knows me has been surprised by this😆. Anyway, one characteristic of ADHD is hyper-focus on random things often to the exclusion of other important matters. This can be useful when a deep dive into something is needed and I've finally started directing this to working on articles for my website. Challenges are trying to write 10 articles at once and having to sit still for so long. So I could do with your help to decide which articles to focus on first.

What articles would be most useful to you right now? Put in your requests and I will do my best to deliver you well researched, evidence based, balanced and readable information.

Here are some starter categories

Animal health
Specific diseases and issues
Routine procedures
Nutrition
Farm management
Human health and fitness
Food production
Mental wellbeing
Personal stories
Downloadable resources

Happy to give any topic a go. Some topics will take a little longer than others but my commitment is to bring trustworthy information to you.

Hey Friends

The new website is now up and running. It's a little bit bare bones at the moment but look forward to lots of information coming to this site along with monthly newsletters.

A focus service that I am working on is health coaching based on the principle that you know your animals and your goals best and are the one making the day to day decisions and actions. I will work alongside you, listening, guiding and supporting your decisions and bring in extra information, resources and ideas to help you confidently achieve the outcomes you want. In the long term I am hoping to extend this to personal health and wellness coaching for people too! I'd love to hear your ideas, what you are struggling with and what might be useful support. Send me a message or text with your ideas.

Pania is a registered veterinarian who has worked with industry and teaching for the past 14years. She loves working with all animals, has a range of ‘pets’, and has been providing production animal services to a small number of clients. We are both keen to settle into working for our community, moving away from the big corporate scene. We are keen to learn as we go, will take all due care and look forward to getting to know and helping out our neighbours.
