DON’T GIVE UP THE DAY JOB - Sunday at 5pm on What’s It All About, Andy? Brought to you by Pianoworks. Only on The Most 100.4FM in Taranaki, 107.4FM in Ōakura, and streaming live at www.mostfm.co.nz
It’s hard to make a living as a musician, so some of them have side hustles to help stay afloat. Others had jobs before they became famous, and yet others went on to find real jobs once their 15 minutes of fame was up. This week’s show focuses on musicians who previously were, later became, or currently also are actors, teachers, church pastors, a salmon farmer, a lift attendant, a mayor, a pizza chef, an apprentice stained-glass window maker, a crime novelist, a puppeteer and a conservationist. Featuring songs by Tom Waits, Mark Knopfler, Gary Shearston, Al Green, Seeker Lover Keeper, Richard Thompson, Anthonie Tonnon, Jethro Tull, Marc Ellington, Poco, Minnie Driver, The Bowles Brothers and whatever else I can squeeze in.
