Production for family adventure comedy Bookworm, is set to commence in Canterbury New Zealand.

Starring alongside Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings, Come to Daddy, Yellowjackets), is award-winning Irish actor and comedian, Michael Smiley (Kill List, Bad Sisters, The Lobster) and British/New Zealander Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise, Northspur, Choose Love).

Bookworm, written by Toby Harvard (Come to Daddy, The Greasy), and directed by Ant Timpson (Come to Daddy) is the story of 12-year-old Mildred (Fisher) whose life is turned upside down when her estranged, washed-up American magician father, Strawn Wise (Wood), comes to look after her. Bookworm is produced by Emma Slade, Roxi Bull and Victoria Dabbs of Firefly Films and Mette-Marie Kongsved and Laura Tunstall of Nowhere.

Rialto will distribute the film in New Zealand and Australia with Mister Smith handling international sales. CAA Media Finance represents US rights.

Well done Zoe, Fraser, Leela and Tom- Amazing!

Congratulations to Zoe McIntosh, Fraser Brown, Leela Menon and Tom Blackwell whose New Zealand feature film STYLEBENDER, will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2023 in Documentary Competition in June.

STYLEBENDER, offers an up-close view into the world of Israel Adesanya, the Nigerian born New Zealand based MMA fighter.

Directed by Zoe McIntosh (Dark Tourist, The World in Your Window), STYLEBENDER is one of the 19 films or 68% of the 28-strong competition line-up directed by women. Zoe McIntosh will attend with the support of the New Zealand Film Commission.

STYLEBENDER is a FluroBlack production, from filmmakers Fraser Brown (McLaren, Dawn Raid) Leela Menon (Dawn Raid, Mothers of the Revolution) and Tom Blackwell (The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!), with Ahi distributing the film in New Zealand and Australia.

Principal photography underway on feature film 'One Winter', starring Julian Dennison (Ngāti Hauā), Minnie Driver and Rhys Darby 🎬

Written by Hamish Bennett (Te Arawa, Patuharakeke, Ngāi Tahu) and Sonia Whiteman, and directed by Paul Middleditch and Hamish Bennett, One Winter is currently shooting across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Ōtepoti Dunedin by a wealth of incredible local creatives and crew.

One Winter is produced by Emma Slade, Sandra Kailahi and Angela Cudd (Ngāti Porou, Te-Whānau-Ā-Apanui, Ngāti Wai).

One Winter was made with investment from Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga New Zealand Film Commission, the New Zealand Government’s Screen Production Grant, with financing from Kiwibank. Blue Fox Entertainment are the international sales agents with Kismet distributing the film across Australia and New Zealand.
