Our Story

DA Bomb FM was founded in 2003 as a low-power frequency (commonly known as LPFM) radio station broadcasting a vast range of genres including Top 40, Rock, Dubstep & Hip Hop, originally based in Paeroa, having now relocated to the sunny Snells Beach based in the northern region of Auckland.

In 2013, the station was restructured to focus on a newer format of Electronic Dance Music range such as Dubstep, House, Trance, Drum & Bass as well as Future & Trap genres of music, which has allowed us to provide a more broad range of playlists through the station with 20,000 and growing songs in our studio library.

Our listener channels as well as re-broadcasting partners feature us to listeners locally on the LPFM airwaves (find your local frequency by clicking here!) as well as the various online channels we broadcast on featuring us throughout New Zealand & Australia, as well as far as Japan, Austria & America! Since moving into online broadcasting following the trend of major corporate based broadcasters in New Zealand, as a smaller independent broadcaster, we pull in a listener base on average of 600-1,000 listeners per show on the station purely online in addition to local FM listeners, contributing to the continued growth of the station.

Now focused on keeping up with growing station trends, we are continuing to entertain the broad range of listeners through the various channels we broadcast on in addition to Facebook Live broadcasting direct from the studio in Snells Beach. We are also proud to be pushed by a wide range of retail chain stores throughout New Zealand continuing to promote our station New Zealand wide.
