I’m having a moment tonight lol.

Leaving real estate hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be. The first home buyer purchasing their first home and the vendor who sells for more than they expected really pulls the heart strings for me. No better feeling!!

I wish I captured every moment but these photos are just a few from my time in real estate.

Kia ora everyone 👋. Bit of an update 👊

I’m currently in gizzy till tomorrow 😊. I flew over from Auckland early hours this morning 😅. I’m tired lol.

You don’t know what it is I do yet so here goes... I cover Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, Taupo and Gisborne as the Tenancy Liason for the region at Housing New Zealand as part of the Development Strategy Team.

These past 10 days I’ve been learning the ropes and I’ve got much to learn but I’m soaking it all in. I’ve seen a need in the community and I’m so glad to be part of this team.

Thank you everyone for your messages and phone calls of support since I started. I really appreciate it!

Oh and Lise and I are booking us our three week trip to Thailand 😊. Much needed ✌️

It’s been a few days in my new role at housing New Zealand but this really hit me in the feels when one of my vendors wanted to see me today. I had to keep it together as they handed me a farewell gift as a thank you and a reminder that I’ll be missed. You might wanna sit down for this one 😱

The short story is - I'm leaving real estate. I've been offered an opportunity with Housing New Zealand that really is just too good to turn down.

The long story - it's been the hardest decision I've ever had to make. I'm very happy to say that I'm leaving real estate at my peak, which is also why it's so hard to leave. I absolutely love real estate. But the reality is, I do want life balance. I know life is short. I also know some agents who do have life balance. But I don't know if I'm one of those agents that can truly switch off when I do have time to myself. Anyway, there are a lot of pros and cons for both real estate and the new opportunity, however a decision had to be made and I'm running with it!

I just want to say to all you who have managed to read the novel so far, I'm so very thankful for all your support, your encouragement, your kind words - and for all those who bought with me, sold with me, put your trust in me, referred people to me, I really am so very grateful to you all.

So, I guess that's that. Good luck to you all for your future property endeavours - it's been an absolute rollercoaster and I wouldn't have had it any other way... 😊
