Season account opener for 🦍🔥

The first fish to hit the deck for our 2024/25 season. A special one for myself and brother as it was the first ‘proper’ GT we had ever seen in person. Second day on the job and what an incredible introduction to this fishery.

Stoked to have shared the moment with legends .e.wilds & , this was JC’s 9th time fishing with us in Oman and Joe’s 1st No Boundaries experience. Hopefully we’ll be seeing their return soon 👀

Credit to .e.wilds for the photos on this one.

Broomtail Wrasse 🔓

One of the most incredible looking fish to swim our oceans.
Fun fact. These fish are protogynous, meaning that they are all born as Female’s and only some of them will change s*x and become a Male. A Non-binary fish…. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I was lucky enough to land 4 of these vibrant critters on a recent Guides mission. Flick to the last slide to see what a female one looks like ➡️

From New Zealand Kingfish to Omani Queenfish 👑

As the Arabian Sea starts to warm up we are starting to see an abundance of these fish. They are commonly mistaken for a pack of GT’s as they flash their reflective sides in the light whilst hunting down your lure at speed.

A spectacular fight on light tackle as they race around the boat and put on quite the aerial display.

Quick pic before release as always

No Boundaries Oman 2024 🏴‍☠️

Here is 10 button clicks from my first 3 months in Oman. What a place and what a journey. Something I will forever look back on for the years to come.

A huge thank you to for this amazing opportunity. Working for THE BEST topwater outfit in the world, exploring a new coastline and discovering the incredible fishery that this place has to offer.

Besides the heat. This place truely is an anglers dream and words will never be able to describe the emotions and pure froth throughout the boat when the giants come to play. Something that will make all the hairs on your body stand up as a fish boils on your lure. What comes next…. A world of pain and potential heartbreaks for many anglers as top quality gear gets pushed to its absolute limits. Regardless of the outcome, it is a spectacle to watch the Worlds BIGGEST GT do what they do best. HUNT AND DESTROY 🦍 💪🏽 🏴‍☠️

More fishy photos to come shortly…

Another species ticked off the bucket list 🤝🏼

Epic low-tide session walking the reef with the boys. Throwing XS poppers & stickbaits on the light gear.
Myself & getting this double-up of beautiful Omani Bream. 🇴🇲

Man, these fish are angry. My one smashing the tiny popper right on the reefs edge, getting fully airborne before putting his head down and putting the TD Sol 3000 to work.

This place continues to blow me away, and I can’t wait to get offshore and explore this amazing fishery some more.

My first fish in Oman. 🇴🇲

This past week has felt like something out of a movie.
My first time traveling solo, halfway across the world.
So much to look at and take in. The people, the scenery, the food and the climate all so different to what I’m used to.

I’ve got a bunch of content I would like to share with you guys. We’ve been busy preparing the lodge, the boats, all the gear and ourselves for what’s to come.

Stay tuned. 🇳🇿 🙌🏼

Team Little Weapon Reunion 🤝🏼

Brother & I made the most of the last weather window, which might just be my last outing in NZ Waters for a wee while.

Such an epic day, punching our way out through the fog. We peppered a bit of coast on Topwater, but it seemed fairly quiet, so we pushed further to where there had been “reports” of Tuna lurking around the week prior. We found some sign and towed our Pencil Pops around in the hopes of something crazy to happen ~ no cigar.

We then swapped out the 8ft rods for some jig rods and warmed up the shoulders, going back to back on some good-conditioned Winter Kingfish 💪🏽

After that, we shot back in to the serenity of the coast and patrolled the wash with our softies. Plucking plenty of nice eaters out of the shallows for some midday fun.

We finished the day towing some livebaits through a lively piece of coast and missed a couple more fish on Topwater.
A couple cold brews from the legends and a stella ride home to wrap up a memorable day fishing.

Until the next Thank you, Tangaroa 🍻

The annual SBT trip 2024 🤝🏼

It’s always a pleasure venturing down to the East Cape of New Zealand. Lots of driving, chilly mornings, wild seas and wet clothes are all worth the while once you hear that reel start screaming!

The boys put in the hard yards, finding Finn his first Bluefin Tuna along with some reasonable sized Albacore.

My dream fish on Topwater!

Story time:
As a young fella my first Kingfish experience took place up the Tamiki Estuary, opposite the Panmure Basin. Whilst watching my Pops work on his boat I sat there trying to catch crabs on the edge of the mud. I turned around to a splash and witnessed a small King race off under the jetty with my line in tow. The fight was short lived but from this point on the Kingfish cemented itself at the top of my list.

Fast forward 16 years. I’ve now had the privilege of helping others catch their dream fish onboard many Charter boats. Whether that be around Coro or at the Notorious Three Kings Island. Having caught a dozen fish personally over the magic 20kg, the thrill was still very much alive and the dream of catching an even bigger one continued.

Earlier this year I was able to fulfil my dream. Thousands of casts, hundreds of missions and many heart breaks later. The one I was after made its way into my arms.

Working onboard Demelza .nz at the time. I’d set up the customers for the drift and ran up the bow to send the Pencil Pop into some dream territory. A couple casts later I watched my lure disappear under the surface followed by a hole the size of a small car.

It was on. An absolute bruiser of a scrap on my Saltiga 14k & Demonblood 6/8. This thing had me buckled in more ways than one and after a solid tussle we had him beat.

After almost loosing the fish boat side I noticed my PR Knot had cut through the leader inside the knot and was slowly unraveling. It was touch and go for leader man but we got it done! 😮‍💨

We never measured or weighed the fish. Instead we grabbed a few snaps and sent her on her way. Something that the young me will cherish forever.

I wanna give a shoutout to all those who have inspired me over the years. From Bill Hohepa to Brother and Mike from you have all played a part in this passion that I have today. So thank you.

For now I am happy but there will always a bigger one on the horizon.

Battle Stations for the 2024 SBF Tuna run.

Throwing it back to last season. Chris and I did 5 consecutive days fishing onboard out of Waihau Bay. We totalled 57 Bluefin up to 120kg over the 5 days with a majority of our fish all being caught before noon. Double’s, Triples and even 5-way hook ups to keep the customers on their toes.

This was such an incredible experience and a huge learning curve for myself. Having never leaded a Bluefin before I was beyond psyched to have pulled on every single one that fell victim to our
A huge number of these fish were also released to carry on with their annual migration.

How awesome are these fish!?

ANGLERS ESCAPE 2024

What an incredible experience to be apart of ‘s 2024 Anglers Escape.

First of all I would like to thank my Skipper and crew for adopting me onboard the “Little Weapon” after a last minute pull out from my team. The advantage of having local knowledge paired with some gun fisherman really gives you the best shot at catching some trophy fish.

Secondly, a massive shoutout to and for hosting what could easily be New Zealand’s greatest fishing competition. The time and effort that goes into organising such an event is tremendous and not to forget… an event that gives back so much.

A total of 25k was raised over the three days with all proceeds going to to raise awareness for Men’s mental health. How good, shot Azza 🙌🏼

Lastly, to fish a new stretch of coastline once again and tap into some of the treats it withholds was just the icing on top. From catching solid snapper in less than a meter of water to doing battle with some healthy Autumn Kingfish. It really doesn’t get much better!

Thanks again to all the legends that made this event happen, it was awesome meeting you lot and sharing a couple cold ones. Hope to do it all again come next year. Yeww 🍻

Bottom bashing at The Kings can produce some gnarly looking critters as well as some good chewing 💪🏽

These lads had their work cut out for them. Landing bass up to 50kg and catching Puka out of 30m of water.

The possibilities are endless when fishing remote locations like The Kings.

Just when you thought we were sick of Kingfish…. Think again 😉

Recently, the lads battled through some gnarly weather only to be rewarded 5 minutes into fishing.

Upon arriving at the ledge, we found a rock pool already choked with live Kahawhai. We still can’t figure out how they got there, but they were obviously hungry, and it didn’t take long to pluck one out with a micro bait.

As if it was scripted. The livebait was deployed under a balloon, and before we could completely set up for the day, we had this respectable Kingfish climbing over our little Kahawhai.

After a short tussle with this fish, it was clear that he was gut hooked and bleeding a lot from the gills. We don’t usually keep too many Kingfish, but we knew this fish’s chances of survival were slim.

As always, none of this fish would be going to waste and after a long/ hard slog back to the car park, we loaded him up in the and made some tracks back home to where he would have a date with the smoker.

Another video on the way shortly. Stay tuned…
