Ian's path has always been a creative one with numerous mastered disciplines under his belt. From the street of Australia to getting a chance in a kitchen onto running kitchens then into photography also landing the #1 spot on the world most curated platform for Aotearoa/New Zealand on the words biggest stage until removing himself after not being contested for 12 months he felt it time to stand d
own. In the mix of kitchens and photography Ian also ran his very 1st very well to do pro photographic studio in the trendy suburb of Glenferrie in Melbourne's cafe district. Mixing with some of the other creatives like painters, graffiti experts and tattooists it didn't take Ian long to pick up a machine to learn yet another trade. On and off for 7 years he laid down the fundamentals and produced work equal his pro peers but due to the death of his brother and mentor Ian sadly felt so gutted and deflated he walked away from his machines, his passions and his friends choosing the life of the lone wolf and focusing more on photography to escape depression related to his passed brother. After shooting pro in 4 counties and retuning to Australia and meeting his then partner had a wonderful daughter that has changed is world in every possible way. In his words "She is the best human I have ever had the honor of meeting" after just 6 months Ian moved his family to Aotearoa to stay a family due to a ending visa for his then partner. At this time the trio became a mighty due with Ian and his daughter staying on and his former partner separating to further her endeavors in Europe. For the past 5 years Ian and his daughter have paid for and cooked over 4000+ meals for homeless in the north island, started a international brand InvokeMe and is followed by over 120,000 individuals from all over the world on facebook. It took a very special place and some incredible people to get him to lay some roots and though met with many obstacles new he found "home" in a very cool city called HChristchurch in Aotearoa/New Zealand's south island. After providing free photography for families and trying to work with other agencies Ian seen the cracks in the wall so to speak and ventured out once again as a lone wolf to better the lives of people in his community. From free photography for still borns, free whanau photos, free workshops and a host of other initiatives
Ians creative side started flowing more until he once again felt the erg to pick up a tattoo machine to give his passion free rain once again. From the 1st art work his skills had been like he had never stopped. Word had spread in his circle he was going to tattoo again had people in Wellington and Taranaki biting at the bit to get down to the south! One older gentlemen 68 yrs young was the first to make the voyage in a motorhome to be one of the lucky 1st tattooed and ended up with a 3/4 back job and many other individual peace's. He is one for details but not just in his art. From the very first actual conversation with him its more like talking to a friend you have known for years, he just has a different way about him hard to put into words but is amazing and somewhat enchanting. From the roughest of streets to being loves my thousands and thousands of people around the globe you will be hard to find someone more humble and in many ways reserved. The attention to detail he has for his tattooing and photography is the same attention to detail he has for connecting in a deeper way with his clients bringing out the very best in them, his art and his every endeavor. To know Ian, might take time but what you get from the very first meetings is honest, raw and with a sprinkle of magic. This Irish/Sicilian is a wonderland of creativity, life experience in all walks of life and has deep connections to cultures around the world. He is Ian, hard to put into words and hard to forget but he has touched more lives then anyone I have ever known and has a heart as big and as the ocean and a mins as sharp as a sward. As he said in a magazine he was featured in he stated and I quote "For me, art in many ways, is the only way I know how to communicate in a way others understand". Steeped in thought and meaning, Ian will create more then you hoped for if you let that magic happen giving you a lifelong tattoo that will always remind you how special you and your tattoo really are. Adding to his already great success in numerus fields, Ian has taken on yet another venture to deliver the very best in reviews of all sorts liove and prerecorded on his numerous platforms. Due to health, Ian has been finding it hard to do his other crafts and is dedicating his time to making sure people know the places to go and the ones to steer far away from!! Reviews are vital and this is yet another way, Ian can share his experience with and about people, places and things.
