ACCIDENT: Please avoid Farrington Ave / Kilburn St area. One person has been critically injured in a crash involving a number of vehicles and a power pole in Bishopdale, Christchurch. Emergency services were called to the corner of Farrington Ave and Kilburn St about 3.20pm today. A St John spokesperson confirmed two ambulances and two Rapid Response Units responded. Two fire engines and a large number of police were also at the scene. Trades person, Alex Watson, was in a nearby driveway when he heard the impact of the vehicle hit the power pole and witnessed the pole snap in half and fall to the ground. Local resident, Alan Pollock, said he came out to the street when he heard the sirens and saw fire crews trying to resuscitate a man. A number of nearby cars had been “shunted off the road”. Another witness, who did not wish to be named, described the scene with "all the sirens and flashing lights" attracting onlookers, and her concern for the school children in the area that witnessed the incident. #LocalNews #Bishopdale #Accident #Accident #Bishopdale #FarringtonAve #KilburnSt
