Here at Tāima Kōrero - Time 2 Talk, we couldn't do what we do without the generous support of organisations like Rātā Foundation.

Rātā Foundation has provided financial support for our work across a number of years, allowing us to reach more parents in more schools, resulting in more vital conversations with more young people here in Aotearoa.

Here at Tāima Kōrero - Time 2 Talk it's essential that we're on top of all the current statistics, trends and updates around what our kids are experiencing and doing online. As you can imagine, things move very quickly in this space!

This incredible conference provided a wealth of updated information that we can't wait to share with you via our presentations throughout 2025. Watch this space...

ICYMI - here's yet another reminder as to why we need to create an open line of communication with our children about what they're seeing, being exposed to or being asked to do online. Yup, even when they're just playing Roblox... 😔

The warning comes as police say predators contact children through gaming platforms, then groom them to go into private chat rooms.

As much as we wish this wasn't happening, it absolutely is.

We can't count the number of times that parents tell us "I don't need to think about my child looking at p**n yet - they're only 8" (or 10, or 12... you get the idea).

If your child uses the internet, chances are, they're going to be exposed to p**n far earlier than you could imagine.

❓ Is your child prepared to see potentially harmful, violent or graphic s*xual content?
❓ Will they come to you if they do, and feel confused, worried or intrigued by it?
❓Or will they keep going back for more, and use it as a learning tool to 'understand' how s*x is supposed to work?

Let's equip ourselves with the tools to help our children navigate and talk about this widespread topic, for their own safety and wellbeing.

Hello👋 It's been a while since our last post as we've been flat out!

Following the recent Trans-Tasman Principals' Conference, Brett's been on the road again, presenting to various school communities and working with social services staff. And in between, it's been head down, scheduling bookings for 2025!

Tāima Kōrero - Time 2 Talk's parent presentations are suitable for parents and caregivers of children aged between 3 and 18 years.

We're thrilled that more and more primary schools are signing up for Tāima Kōrero - Time 2 Talk presentations, and parents of young children are turning out in force. 🙌

This is an issue for parents of all ages and stages, so we encourage you to come along to a presentation near you, whether you have young children and want to get ahead of the game, or you're in the thick of it with pre-teens or teenagers, and wondering what's going on.

Sextortion is in the news AGAIN. Why? Because it's happening more and more. Why? Because people are getting away with it. Why? Because we're not talking to our kids about it!

Let's open conversations with our young people around all of this stuff BEFORE it happens so they know the risks, but most importantly, so they know they can come to us with any embarrassing or troubling things they need to talk about.
