Discover the rich history of aviation with the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre where you can explore WWI and WWII aviation. Whether it's the life-sized dioramas or film director Sir Peter Jackson’s WWI personal collection, there's something here for every aviation enthusiast!

One of the most famous aircraft at Omaka is Fokker Dr.I Triplane, which is associated with the legendary German fighter ace Manfredd von Richthofen, also known as the “Red Baron” The museum’s exhibit includes an impressively detailed replica of the Red Baron’s iconic red triplane, which played a significant role in his status as one of the most famous pilots of WWI.

🔍 Did You Know? Many of the dioramas were created by Wingnut films and the life like mannequins by Weta Workshop

Our P-40 clothing is modelled on a Warhawk named Wairarapa Wildcat because of the cat motif on its cowl. This stubby little U.S. Navy fighter was actually called the Wildcat. It was displayed with great vigour by Stu Goldspink at Sywell 2024 Do you know what it was called in Royal Navy service?

Sywell 2024 was the official opening for Barnstormers newest adventure Barnstormer UK!

Max and Victoria from Barnstormer have been working with Richard Grace for several months now to open this new franchise in England.

To mark the occasion, they have created two new collections, one for the P-51 Mustang: "Jersey Jerk" and the other for “The Grace Spitfire".

D Day 80th Anniversary!

The Allied undertaking to open a second front and free Europe was on a scale never before seen in History. Airborne and glider troops combined with amphibious landings to begin the long journey to Berlin and eventual victory in Europe.

80 years ago all the preparations and planning, scheming and plotting would now rely on the guys in formation with you, the guys in your parachute chalk or the guys in your landing craft.

Heroes one and all.

📣 D-Day Collection

511th Bombardment Squadron ✈️

Nicknamed the Ball Boys this B-17 Squadron flew through the toughest part of the daylight bombing campaign from 1942-1945.

They earned two unit citations during Operation Pointblank for raids on the Arado and Fock-Wulf aircraft factories. This operation was designed to destroy the Luftwaffe fighter force at its manufacturing source and in combat prior to the June 6th D-Day landings.

To commemorate this celebrated Squadron Barnstormer produced a beautifully detailed and constructed bomber style jacket. We only have two left in stock a size Small and Medium, but you can order online and Barnstormer will make your Jacket in your size 🤗

Here at Barnstormer/NZ-AUS we are not only about the quality but also the detail with our clothing range.
All aeroplanes are identified by a data plate. Our Fighter Flights Full Noise Hoodie features the serial number from the data plate 0470106.
The 47 denotes the Orenburg factory where the Yak was built. 01 identifies that it was built in the first batch and 06 that it was number six in the build order.

Part of the rich tapestry of life at our local airfield. Once protagonists and now hangar mates at Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre the Fw-190 and Mk XIV Spitfire of the Chariots of Fire collection were in full song today as their engines were exercised by Jay and Ryan from JEM Aviation Ltd

📣 On this day in 1943!

We are all about aviation history here at Barnstormer/NZ-AUS 👍

On the night of the 16th of May 1943, 19 Lancaster bombers of 617 Sqn attacked the Eder, Möhne and Sorpe dams in the Ruhr valley. The Eder and Möhne dams were breached using the Barnes Wallis designed bouncing bomb. 8 aircraft failed to return with the loss of 53 crew. Two power plants and many factories and mines were affected so that full production did not return until September. German civilians and enslaved labourers were also killed by the floodwaters. It is widely regarded as one of the most significant raids of WWII.
