SUNSHINE ONLINE DECODABLE LIBRARY

We’ve added our 180 decodable titles to Sunshine Online, to support your teaching of the Sunshine Phonics Decodable programme.

The new Sunshine Online Decodable Library is perfect for use in the classroom and to send home with children for take-home reading. You can use the print and digital resources together to meet the needs of the revised New Zealand curriculum.

KEY FEATURES:
☀️180 fully decodable fiction and non-fiction titles
☀️Follows a strong Scope and Sequence from simple code, to complex code, through to extended code
☀️Pure articulation of the phonemes (sounds) modelled for students
☀️Students voice-record and play back their own articulation as they segment, and blend sounds to read words
☀️Students can listen to the text being read, with decoding support if required, or they can read independently
☀️Students record their reading of the text
☀️Students complete an online assessment at the end of each set of books
in the programme
☀️Teachers can assign work, listen to recordings, and review and track student progress

SUNSHINE ONLINE DECODABLE LIBRARY – AVAILABLE NOW

760 schools around Aotearoa have already signed up for 2025!

The new Decodable Library features:
☀️ All 180 fiction and non-fiction fully decodable texts
☀️ Activities that provide students with phonics practice at sound, word and text level
☀️ Voice over support
☀️ Online assessment

And it’s not just for classroom use. You can use the Decodable library for take-home reading. No more lost or forgotten books, and parents can get involved with student learning.

All New Zealand schools can apply for a grant to access Sunshine Online – both the current Levelled Library and the new Decodable Library - for the whole of 2025.

Holiday closing 🎄

2024 has been eventful! We've published lots of new books and engaged with many teachers, parents and literacy professionals during the year. We've loved every minute of it! We're looking forward to 2025, but in the meantime the Sunshine crew are packing up their things at midday on Friday, 20 December and will be back on board on Monday, 6 January 2025.
