ANOTHER UPDATE: I did tell you a few weeks ago I was starting 'WORK' again!!! Well as it has turned out that wasn't quite true. We have been busy settling into a new life in the city. Hosting visitors, catching up on appointments, going out for lunches and yesterday even went to the movies, doing heaps of walking but not really 'WORKING'. So today as I have managed to catch a cold and am sitting on my bed trying to recuperate, I have decided yes TODAY IS THE DAY... May 4th this year, Wellington City Libraries and National Library of New Zealand will be celebrating 10 years of ComicFest .

Join them to explore the world of cartoons and comics at the National Library in Thorndon, Wellington. From 9am - 4:30pm, they will be hosting a festival of workshops, talks, comic giveaways, live drawing, and even a children's cosplay competition!

Great idea

Do you have family or friends overseas 🌎 who want to buy your child in New Zealand 🇳🇿 a book as a gift?

We've recently tweaked the online ordering system to make it super simple to send a book as a gift to a child an address in New Zealand. 📖

The purchaser enters their own details in the ‘billing address’ fields then scrolls down to tick the box beside ‘deliver to a different address?’ Then they enter the name and delivery address in New Zealand for the child receiving the book. The name on the parcel can be the child or a parent/caregiver. They can also enter the email address for someone at the recipient's address for the courier tracking email. (Previously the system only accepted New Zealand billing addresses. Now the New Zealand-restriction applies only to delivery addresses.)

The purchaser can also request the book is gift-wrapped by adding this in the comments field. We will choose a plain coloured paper for simple gift wrapping and add one of our bookmarks, as we do with every order.

So if your relatives overseas want to be able to gift a New Zealand-created book to your Kiwi kids, we've made that easier to do. 😄

Being able to help a Northland school affected by the cyclone last year restock their library with these awesome books by NZ authors thanks to the campaign where people donated to tokens for the schools to redeem.
So thrilled I could help!

OFFICIALLY MY FIRST DAY BACK AT WORK. I have had the summer off. Selling caravan and ute and settling back into life in Auckland City. We have always had a 50% work and 50% play life, but this time I have had a lot more time off. So nice to be back into it again.

CATCH UP: Well we have finally crossed Cook Strait and are back in the North Island. Family time in Hawkes Bay and onward North to end up in Kerikeri for a family Christmas. This is a LIFE UPDATE POST:
We are at the end of our days on the road travelling in our caravan, only three more days left. Hopefully we will do the occasional Housesit so we can still do some face to face book selling as it so
much fun to meet the librarians and all the wonderful ECE teachers in NZ but now I will need to develop other ways of selling….any great ideas? I will do markets which I have always loved and hopefully resurrect our website sales and online marketing. Also very happy to hear from any bookshops who might like to stock them.
