As we approach International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, the top 50 Women in Food and Drink Aotearoa, New Zealand, has been announced, featuring Patsy Bass, Founder and CEO of Reefton Distilling Co. This list celebrates both established leaders and rising stars across the food and drink industry.

Founded by Kelli Brett in 2022, Women in Food and Drink aims to connect women in the sector for networking, education, and support. Judges evaluated nominees based on their influence and contribution to New Zealand’s food and drink narrative.

Patsy expressed her surprise and pride at being recognized, highlighting the significant achievements of women in the traditionally male-dominated spirits industry. A founding member of Distilled Spirits Aotearoa, she champions innovation and sustainability, negotiating landmark deals and achieving B Corp certification for positive impact.

Patsy’s commitment to community development is evident through her mentorship of local youth, exemplified by the youngest-ever recipient of the International Institute of Brewing and Distilling Certificate.

Introducing the talented ⭐️Maria Kyliushyk ⭐️ to and in Parnell.
Let’s is tell you a bit about her.
Maria had a fulfilling life in Ukraine, where she embraced her roles as a devoted mother, loving wife, and successful business owner. However, everything changed in 2022 when the war brought turmoil to her homeland. For an entire month, her family endured the harrowing experience of living in a basement under shelling, facing extreme cold and isolation without electricity or communication. The uncertainty of their situation was terrifying, especially as they were occupied and unable to escape to safety.

Fortunately, after her city was heroically liberated by Ukrainian soldiers, Maria and her family were able to relocate to a safer area. They spent a few more months in Ukraine before preparing to move to New Zealand, a journey made possible with the incredible support of her family, Steve and Tanya Baldwin, who helped secure their visas and facilitated their transition.

This move ignited a desire for change within Maria. She pursued a new career in beauty, completing a permanent makeup course and quickly establishing herself in the field. Along the way, she met owner and operator Amanda Guerin, a remarkable individual known for her skill and beauty inside and out. Amanda recognised Maria’s talent and offered her a position on her team, a fantastic opportunity to work alongside one of the best professionals in the industry.

With her resilience and newfound passion, Maria is excited to embark on this new chapter in her life at in Parnell, where she looks forward to contributing her skills and connecting with wonderful clients and colleagues. What do we ask of you - please go and have a treatment with her. She needs to quickly gain clients to be able to continue. Book a tan, face or brow treatments and trust us she won’t disappoint 🙌
