Arising from the dead of night - a Pantoum by Rhona Stace
The pantoum is a poetic form derived from the pantun, a Malay verse form: specifically from the pantun berkait, a series of interwoven quatrains.
The pantoum is a form of poetry similar to a villanelle in that there are repeating lines throughout the poem. It is composed of a series of quatrains; which you can read more about here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantoum
I was inspired to try this form by A Bluff Pantoum by the delectable Cilla McQueen. Mine does not compare to its inspiration, but is not a bad start.
