straps into an astral journey on a test shoot with some of the best snowboard bindings in the universe

The goal was to bring that same energy you get on the slopes or at the skate park right into the studio. Devon aimed the light straight at the lens, making the carefully placed dust pop, giving it that “snow splashing on the lens” vibe. Going all-in on the fish-eye lens, the kind that’s a staple in skateboarding shots—no filters, just pure in-camera style. All action, no fluff 🤟.

Thanks to the good folk CHCH for the bindings.

NEW FC HUMAN

We are stoked to welcome the super talents of to the fold.

A director with fresh vision, his storytelling is complemented by imaginative shot-making and finely honed craft.

Originally from Los Angeles and now based in Sydney, Tobias has already made his mark with campaigns for major brands like Apple Music, Samsung, and Nespresso.

His music videos for artists such as G-Eazy and Alessia Cara have garnered over a billion views. With a background in journalism, Nathan’s work explores complex human conditions, as seen in his acclaimed documentary short “Breaking the Circle.” Currently, in development on a feature film and a TV series, we can’t wait to integrate Tobias’ fresh vision into local projects.

Another standout human ⚡️

Photographer captures playful portraits of tennis legend for x

Shot at the IQL Tennis Academy in sunny Benidorm, Alicante, Spain, where time is always at a premium. Krige leans into his favorite way of shooting, allowing the natural dialogue between his lens and Alex De Minaur’s on-court choreography to unfold. This visual banter has been perfected over several shoots.

“When it comes to capturing De Minaur, his energy and generous character make my job easy and totally enjoyable. He’s one of the best,” says Krige.

Alicante, near Benidorm, exudes unique vibes, almost reminiscent of Miami Vice. You might even spot a few retirees catching some Z’s outside pubs from the night before. This distinctive atmosphere shines through in Krige’s vibrant portraits of De Minaur.

Georgia call’s 🇬🇪, Bon Voyage

Thanks for all the production adventures, epic shoots, code cracking budgets and your infectious laugh.

We’ll miss your va**ng silhoutte in the loading dock, your amazing taste in sausages and your English marmite, MY-MATE. But really, we’ll just MISS you!

And for a man that doesn’t hug, your goodbye hug was pretty descent. Until we hit you up for overnight budgies from Tbilisi, adventure well dear friend.

Big Bye Bye’s from the FC Fam xx

// Georgia, a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia, is a former Soviet republic that’s home to Caucasus Mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. It’s famous for Vardzia, a sprawling cave monastery dating to the 12th century, and the ancient wine-growing region Kakheti. The capital, Tbilisi, is known for the diverse architecture and mazelike, cobblestone streets of its old town //

Some behind-the-scenes handmade goodness of Art Director Shayne Radford.

When the world is abuzz about AI, it’s refreshing to be reminded of craftsmanship.

We had the opportunity to work with the always clever hands and Shayne’s imagination to create our two bunny heads (and paws) for a cheeky little spot for Cilatil x Essence. Enjoy!

conjures a futuristic traveler for x

Visual Pleasure Magazine tapped photographer Katya Brook to represent New Zealand in its DELSEY Paris New Horizons World Tour campaign, featuring 24 global artists.

Inspired by DELSEY Rempart’s design, Katya envisioned a futuristic traveler emerging from the ocean, symbolising the brand’s fluidity and resilience. Collaborating with stylist Tichen, they created a costume blending influences from Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” and “Annihilation,” resulting in a faceless, enigmatic figure. Set against the wild beauty of Anawhata Beach, Katya’s imagery invites viewers on a journey where reality and fantasy intertwine. And, all earthly and unearthly belongings are transported by DELSEY Paris.

Hailing from South Africa, Devon brings a lively, rich portfolio of imagery to Australasia.

His portfolio includes tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Steve Johnson and Alex De Minaur. Along with brands like Asics, Adidas, New Balance and Lexus to name a few.

Devon believes in the power of imperfection and sees beauty in the unexpected. His refusal to be pigeonholed as a one-dimensional photographer aligns perfectly with our production ethos of challenging conventions.

“Perfection is boring”, says Krige, “I’m always on the lookout for that unguarded, fresh moment that bursts with originality.”

Currently in LA shooting for Asics, we can’t wait to share a beer and a bear hug on his return.

We are super stoked to be adding SUPER-STAR image maker to the FC fold ⚡️

The long and the short of it, Jake thinks in pictures, problem-solves visually and helps people tell the very best version of their story through images.

Jake’s lens is drawn to action and storytelling, moving in sync with his subjects physically and emotionally. Growing up between New Zealand, Vanuatu, Oman, and Ireland, Jake’s DNA for adventure heavily influences his photography style. Whether taking a still shot or creating a video, he’s about weaving a compelling narrative.

His work reflects his commitment to social good and changing perceptions. From shooting disabled models for large activewear brands to breaking myths and smashing boundaries, Jake’s vision is forward-thinking and socially impactful. Whether crafting and shaping light in a studio environment or embracing the unpredictability of natural light, Jake’s photography maintains a polished yet free aesthetic.

“If I were “sent here on a mission”, it would be to create more elevating visuals featuring humans who are underrepresented in global mass media. Community’s such as the disabled, rainbow and BIPOC, to name a few,”- says Jake.

Another beautiful Human to add to our exceptional roster of photographers. The FC playlist just keeps getting better! 🖤

Exhibiting her usual wit and charm, presses the pocket of the Hathaway Man in her latest project, an ode to - THE EYE OF LEGACY

“Legacy is a funny thing, an ethereal echo of one’s journey through time. It’s the indelible mark left on the fabric of existence, shaped by the choices we make and the lives we touch. Our legacy can weave through the lives of others, influencing their paths in often unforeseen ways, an imprint that can inspire, provoke, and resonate across generations.

In the end, our legacy is the tale told long after we’ve taken our final bow—a story of impact and meaning that transcends our mortal years and lives on in the hearts and minds of those we’ve touched.

This twist on a classic campaign pays homage to the brand’s enduring appeal while offering a contemporary perspective, inviting viewers to appreciate its iconic essence in a new light” - says Jodie.

Producers of Epic Filmy Stuff...

Two young men, armed with a singular vision and a hand-levered La Pavoni espresso machine, decided to take over a basement office beside a student pub in Auckland. The year was 1996, and they knew this much – they were passionate about filmmaking, and partial to a good coffee.

Since then, Film Construction has grown beyond the bounds of a basement and into one of Australasia’s most creative and awarded film production companies with offices in Auckland, Sydney, Queenstown and Singapore.

And while Film Construction has always been passionate about filmmaking, we’ve never been more excited about things than we are today. With the explosive evolution of technology, we can now shoot in many formats and for many different screens. We work all over the world with our mantra still being “do great work and that speaks for itself”.

Our coffee machine is still at the centre of the office. So of course, drop in for a brew and tell us your story.
