World Indigenous Broadcasters Network WIBN unites Indigenous broadcasters from around the world to strengthen and promote Indigenous languages, cultures and storytelling.

World Indigenous Broadcasters Network (WIBN)

The World Indigenous Broadcasters Network (WIBN) is a global alliance of Indigenous broadcasters committed to advancing Indigenous storytelling, languages and cultures. Our founding members include Whakaata Māori (New Zealand), National Indigenous Television -NITV (Australia), Aboriginal Peoples Television Network APTN (Canada), NRK Sápmi (Norway) and

Taiwan Indigenous Television TITV (Taiwan). Established in 2008, WIBN is a not-for-profit organisation that fosters collaboration and strengthens the Indigenous media sector through initiatives such as content sharing, training opportunities, staff exchanges and international networking. As members of WIBN, broadcasters are united by a shared commitment: to preserve, promote and revitalise Indigenous languages, cultures and narratives for generations to come.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in the North! NRK Sápmi has visited the historic mining town of Røros – or Plassje as it is called in the Southern Sámi language.

Known for its extreme cold and beautiful wooden architecture, this place transforms into a true winter wonderland in December.

Hakka TV’s midday news has been providing sign language interpretation since 2011, for a total of 14 years. As AI technology continues to advance rapidly, an AI Sign Language Weather Anchor was launched on December 8. This system is the result of a year and a half of collaboration between the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Public Television Service Group. Starting soon, it will appear in the weekday (Monday to Friday) midday news to meet viewers.

The 30th Asian Television Awards were held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Hakka TV’s productions “Black Tide Island Under the Starry Sky” and “Grandma Must Die” received recognition from the judges and won three major awards.

第30屆亞洲電視大獎,在印尼雅加達舉行,客家電視台的影視作品,《星空下的黑潮島嶼》以及《阿婆非死不可》,獲得評審肯定,奪下3項大獎。
