There are many things we can learn about Native American communities that are often misunderstood.

Did you know that Native Americans are not a single group but are made up of hundreds of diverse tribes, each with its own traditions and cultures?

It’s important to remember that many Native people live in cities and towns, not just on reservations. Also, their sacred regalia and traditional clothing should be respected, not viewed as costumes. 🎨

Native history is often misrepresented, but there is a growing movement to tell these stories with honesty and respect.

Native Americans continue to thrive, contributing to art, politics, and much more.

Let’s take time to learn about their rich cultural heritage and engage in meaningful conversations that honor their traditions and experiences. 🌍

As we enter a new year, we’re reminded that some struggles don’t reset with the calendar. The fight for the land is generations deep. Yintah follows two First Nations women as they stand on the front lines, defending their ancestral territories from government and industry. Their story is one of resistance, responsibility, and deep connection to the land, a reality that continues today.
This is one of many powerful and inspiring stories you’ll find on APTN.

APTN, the first national Indigenous broadcaster in the world, is located in Canada.
