In September, devastating floods forced DEPOT’s music studios and gallery to close, damaging equipment and disrupting our creative programmes. While insurance has covered much of the repair work, the loss of income from cancelled sessions and postponed projects has left a significant gap in our ability to serve the community and operate.
We need your help to recover and ensure DEPOT remains a hub for artists, musicians and our local community. Your support will help us restore our creative spaces and allow us to continue to provide a safe space and a springboard for creatives.
Every donation, big or small, directly helps us rebuild and thrive.

We hope everyone is loving this amazing summer! We are excited to be opening our doors this Saturday after a busy period fitting out our creative spaces so we can offer more events, workshops, talks and gigs with more comfort and versatility.
Thanks to the help of many generous partners who also believe in the power of community coming together and the value of the arts and creativity, we have made some exciting changes we can’t wait to share with you including:
- Installing beautiful Autex acoustic panels in the ceilings so the spaces can now be enjoyed with low-to-no reverberation
- Blackout curtains have been installed to help with lighting control
- New air conditioning and heat pumps have made this summer a breeze 😉 and will make winter warm and cosy
- Our clever studio engineers have connected the recording studios to the main gallery space so we can now host live events and professionally record and film them
- And our Street Front gallery has been given a loving make-over in anticipation of housing beautiful handmade art and objects this year as part of our soon to be opened shop
A massive thank you to Devonport Rotary Club, Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, Autex Acoustics, Tanker Creative, Malcolm Taylor Architects, Viking Handyman, UP2IT Access Hire, Harrisons NZ, Albert Kim @ 100% Handyman and Mr Lee for the beautiful windows!
Depot Artspace's first exhibition of 2024, Biomorphic Beings, opens this Saturday 10 February, 2-4pm. Please come down if you’re around, otherwise we can’t wait to see you soon!
