In which Cher tells Jesse he needs to iron his t-shirt.

Plus the pill that put her off drugs for life, her TV career, and marriage to Sonny Bono.

While on holiday in Northland, Jesse got called into action to interview the one and only Cher! Her career spans 70 years with struggles and triumphs. In the first of a two-volume memoir, she turns back time and takes us through the first 34 years of her life beginning with a turbulent childhood and...

We're kicking off today with a mystery....

About a decade ago Ron Mitchell was handed this poem after a gig in Winton. Possibly at the War Memorial Hall. Now he's turned the poem into a song and is attempting to hunt down the original author.

All that Ron remembers is that the man had black hair and was probably around 80, so all leads are gratefully recieved.

Our newsreader Marama has put together an entry for the Coat of Arms contest. I'm not convinced it's going to be a winner, but I can see what she's going for 😊

You've still got time to get your entries in. Post them here, or email us. Dick Frizzell & David Jack will pick a winner to be our "official" Cot Of Arms later this week.

As you might have just heard on air we're running a mini competition to design a Coat Of Arms for the show.

It's going to be judged by heraldry expert David Jack, artist Dick Frizzell, myself & my producers.

To enter submit your design to the show email or here or via messanger.

This is a mini template if you want something to get you started, but you don't have to use it... You can always start with a blank sheet and see where you end up 😀

Today on the show we're joined by an expert in estimating the size of crowds - Professor Rino Lovreglio. He's set us a challenge....

How many people are in this image? Give us your best guess.

We'll reveal the number on air later this afternoon. If you're the closest we'll send you an Afternoons Tote bag 🙂

Fergus is shaping up to be the star of today's show... In the words of two listeners:

"Oh Jesse thanks for this interview with Fergus. It makes my heart sing and reminds me that the future is so bright when I hear beautiful young people like him talking. Jane"

"What an amazing young man Jesse, loved listening to him, what an inspiration.... many people need to take a leaf from his book! Kris"

Every now and again we receive an email from a listener suggesting we speak to a particular person - someone with an impressive story to tell. That's how we came to be in touch with Fergus Morunga. Fergus is 18 years old and is the out-going head prefect at Hastings' Lindisfarne College - among othe...

Earlier in the week our fantastic newsreader Marama T-Pole was explaining to Jesse how her children aren't allowed devices. Instead, they have made their own devices from bits of offcut wood. The artists are Maheu 12, Teoge 9 , Tepae 7 and Teikale 5 years.

BEST BETS perform a cover of Prince 1985 single 'Paisley Park' for NZ Live.

It's tough to take on a classic but I think they rose to the challenge & made it their own.
