In the United States, CL-415 “Super Scooper” aircraft are pivotal in combating wildfires. These amphibious planes can collect approximately 1,600 gallons (6,000 liters) of water from nearby bodies of water in mere seconds and release it over fires while flying at speeds up to 350 km/h (217 mph).  Recently, during efforts to control the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, a Super Scooper was damaged after colliding with an unauthorized drone, resulting in a significant hole in its wing and temporarily grounding the aircraft.  Authorities emphasize that operating drones near active wildfires is both illegal and hazardous, as they can interfere with critical aerial firefighting operations.
