I went for an early morning walk to explore the Westhaven Marina. Fortunately, I was able to capture the beautiful morning light with other people who were also starting their day with a walk and exercise around the Westhaven Marina. The absence of wind and the reflection on the marina create a beautiful view. I have no complaints.

Waking up early in this place will reward you with magical mornings. You will witness the stunning beauty of rugged mountain peaks and the amazing Lake Wakatipu. If the weather is warm, you can even go for a swim, but don’t forget to apply sunscreen. Driving back from this location to Queenstown offers no shortage of breathtaking scenery along the highway. If you continue driving past Glenorchy, you’ll arrive at one of the film locations used in “Lord of the Rings”.

This is one of the scenic drives from Queenstown and the best to drive during day time. It’s a small town at the very north end of this amazing Lake Wakatipu. One of the best places to watch the night under the stars in this location. It was pure luck to witness the clear sky that early morning as we only planned to photograph some sunrise, but end up capturing the Milky Way.
