Relive one of the special moments in the history of the Ranfurly Shield, as we celebrate with players, coaches and fans of BOP rugby!
C'mon the Bay!

UP FOR THE CHALLENGE.....THE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF BOP'S FAMOUS SHIELD VICTORY!
This week the Bunning's NPC kicks off, signaling the start of another season of provincial rugby.
It's also given the Sports Inc. team the chance to reflect on an epic game of footy from the first round of the NPC in 2004.
As well as competition points being on the line at Eden Park when the unheralded Bay of Plenty team travelled north to take on Auckland, it was the also the opportunity for the Bay to try and lift the Ranfurly Shield.... the most prized possession in New Zealand provincial rugby.
The proud Bay of Plenty province had never held the Shield in a history dating back to 1913. This was the BOP's 19th attempt, and with a team coached by Vern Cotter (assisted by Joe Schmidt), and captained by the fearless Wayne Ormond, the Bay fans held out hope that this could be the day.
The Sports Inc. crew were BOP fans themselves, so with the help of the BOPRU and SKY Sport, the production team of Kelsen, Hamish, and Malcolm, spent the week with the team hoping to document history.
Our documentary 'Up for the Challenge' captured the moments pre, during, and post game, and celebrated the history-making exploits of the 2004 Bay of Plenty team.....Ranfurly Shield winners!
We hope you enjoy a few of the highlights from the doco.

The doco received a great review from the New Zealand Herald when it premiered to the Sacred Heart community a few weeks ago.
It's an inspirational story told by the team.
Thanks to Sky Sport for the superb schedule, and to Navigation Homes who are the broadcast partner of the coverage.

SPORTS THAT BUILT THE NATION!
One of our favourite events at Sports Inc. is the Ford Ranger Rural Games, and for the past nine years we've produced a one-hour highlights show on the event for TV3.
The Games is New Zealand’s premier celebration of rural sports held in the iconic Palmerston North Square, and sees the country’s top rural athletes compete in a range of ‘sports that built the nation’. Woodchopping, sheep shearing, sheep dog trials, speed fencing, and gumboot throwing are just some of the many events on display.
This year's show plays on TV3, this Saturday at 5.00pm.

CREATING MEMORIES AT THE MASTERS.
One of the key reasons for being in the sports content game is that we get to create special stories and share them with others.
Our recent trip to Augusta National Golf Club to cover Ryan Fox 's debut at The Masters was a memorable experience. Thanks to Ryan and his family and friends, we were able to give New Zealand sports fans a unique insight into one of the world's great events......like Ryan sharing his drive down the iconic Magnolia Lane with his proud parents.
Fantastic effort by my travelling companion Dan Frost on both his camerawork and editing prowess. Top job, Frosty!
Special thanks to Sky Sport NZ for allowing us the opportunity to create the content, and to Golf Warehouse NZ , Srixon Australia & New Zealand, Ricoh New Zealand Limited and American Express NZ for their respective support.
And, congratulations Foxy on an impressive Masters debut!
If you missed seeing the stories go to air, you can see our 'On Tour' series on Sky Sport Now and the Sky Sport YouTube channel.
